  • 2010 Bike selection Advice [Help]

    Hi All

Having a look at Auto Expo I'm quite disappointed on Bike section.

Now after Auto Expo im looking for a decent bike with

    i) Good Looks
    ii) FE around 50-55
iii) Engine refinement is a must
iv) Reliability is a major concern
    v) for City driving and Some times on Highway.

As the 2010 stunner is displayed in Expo and will hit the showrooms somewhere mid January.

My Height is 6'2 and weight around 85. I have a budget of around 60 k on road.

Opinions are invited . Please advice as will be buying in next 15 days.

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

the new stunner with the engine cowling and a tacho does make sense. But what do u feel about the bajaj AVenger 200cc??? it wont give the desired FE, but would be great on the highway.

You could also consider Apache 160, Pulsar 180.

      - KTM Duke 200
      - Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

        Check out the Honda Unicron,

It a nice refined smooth bike, good for City as well as Highway rides, people also tour on it....
Fuel efficiency as you desire, reliability is one of major selling points of this bike and for the height and weight you mentioned, it wont look perfectly matching, but wont look bad either.

Take a TD and you will be sure of the riding posture and if the bike compliments your looks or not...

Respect the nature and it will respect you back.....

        Cheers!!!!

Get your hands on Hunk for 150cc under 60K. It's a good bike, has a FE of 55-60kmpl. donot waste money on a 125cc stunner it gives same mileage of 55-60kmpl and is heavily underpowered vehicle being just 125cc, it will not serve its purpose of highway riding.

Thanks Lot Ken for Quick approval... My first Thread.

Actually during college time i had TVS fiero F2 .... which really served well ....Must say very well.... But as a company TVS need to look at minor issue at customer End. So TVS is Out.

@Jd666 ... Yes the Avenger is a good option but doesn't feel that confident bike. n yes some thing different from pulsar .

@Dinesh yes New Unicorn Seems promising but its Concept god knows when it will come....... if u got any info please share...

Also the New stable from Yamaha seems they are focusing on INDIANS commuters. Any comment ...

Stunner is better till now ...but not sure about its front fairing in long terms.

            Thanks Lot

After a disappointing auto expo .,you are left with suzuki gs150r and honda unicorn.,i would vote for suzuki gs150r ,as the latter looks really outdated !

for your given points i would suggest waiting for the new Unicorn , stunner does not have a very refined engine .If you want to buy a bike immediately then look at Hunk/Xtreme or the RTR 160

if you're in a hurry to get one,the hunk and GS makes sense. If not, wait for the new unicorn which in all probability will be launched in a couple of months, seeing what they did with the stunner...
It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch

I think looking at the current scenario ....Nobody knows when a concept model comes to reality.

Is it good to talk to the showroom guys ....do they know anything about Concept and Expo and their Launch ....

I can wait as im looking for a good bike... Any comments on upcoming bike form yamaha... in AutoExpo.....

Concept bikes are just a concept 90% of concept automobiles are either not released or released after a long time.

@torque_lover: Hero Honda CBZ Extreme. Its really a nice bike. Refined, torquey, comfortable etc etc... Take a test ride. I've been riding an R15 for over a year now and personally I like the CBZ Extreme.
                              goodluck!
