    hi guys!
have been through my own personal funneling process, have zeroed in on two (havin accepted both pros n cons of both bikes): p220s and p180.

what i would like your opinion on, is :
    • the cost difference in terms of regular service/maintenance of each
    • mileage difference (im no ripper, drive 55kms through moderate city traffic everyday)
p.s: im considerin 220s coz i feel due to the increased wieght and lesened torque the 180 might feel slugish with a pillion. Only if the regular expenses with the 220 are not significantly more from the 180, will i go for it.
    thank you.

Your comparison is odd, P220 is way above 180 in terms of power and torque. Anytime you should consider P220 as under sane riding both bikes will give you a average between 45-50kmpl.

There wont be much difference in servicing dude.
and the spares of bajaj are cheaper than rtr's...

Anyway u mentioned that u are a sane rider..so u can expect somethin between 45 and 50 kmpl for 220..

Go for 220 F..u can enjoy the advantage of projector lamps

I second that dude.......if you're paying around 75k for a P220S then why not pay 3k more and take the projectors in as well.

with only a 3k price diff 220s is the nearest power hike (not counting rtr180)..

@everyone: Thanks for all the replies guys .. having gone through the 220 dtsi-faired ownership experience discussions, i found 38kmpl as the most commonly quoted mileage which was a bit less than my requirement of 45kmpl..which is majorly what made me start this thread... anyway thanx for all the replies.. im gonna book sometime in feb..so lots of time to change my mind before that

Sorry to posting a little bit OT,

And no offense to any owner,

But if any one use the 220S version in city (heavy traffic cutting), Isn't there any advantage over fixed front 220F, if he ready to sacrifice the projector ?

One more que, Is there no benefit at all having 55w DC light ? I know it is not so glorious as projector, but isn't it more powerful than other pulsar/bike variant ?

i don think you will anywhere close to 45~50 with 220..
180 wont feel sluggish with a pillion..
the service costs are more less the same..but..there will be a big diff in petrol bills..

buy the bike according to your needs..i say..go for P180..

u nailed my thought bro, the 55w lightin n better rear brakes were the reasons that pushed the220s into my contention list, the power hike over 180 was secondary.. but i guess the 10kmpl difference is the deciding factor for me since i travel quite a bit daily..

yeah 45-50 on 220, unless driven under std test conditions, i too feel is near impossible.
will be going for TD and knowing the exchange price for my scarface(disco125) on saturday..
i dont think im gonna get much for a 32k old july'07 e-start disco, that resembles some distant cousing of the bajaj discover after all the stripping it has gone through , here is a pic to bring clarity to the stripping im reffering to..

Then there is only one way to go, its 180 made for you, i personally own a 180 ug4 and it is giving me a decent 50 mileage under mixed conditions of 90% sane riding + 10% ripping.
You can also consider P220s as it will give abit more mileage maybe 2-3kmpl or more mileage than a P220 F and the weight of 220s and 180 doesnot differs by much.
