Err yeah! My bad! ZMA's peak power comes at a lower RPM compared to FZ.

not just that, the ZMA has 17 horses while the FZ has only 14. That makes a huge difference.

get the ZMA dude. you won't regret it.

You guys have tilted the balance....of course in favour of ZMA.

            Now it's ZMA - 65% and FZ - 35%

If you need speed and some showoff then its the ZMA
If you need economy and some comfort its the FZ...

Pretty easy now.....cost i wont say since both of em around 3-4k more or less...
You can invest in good gear if you have the Fz since you will save a lot......ZMA also has some waiting issue, apart its spares are costly...so i would put that in showoff and serious speeding bike. 140-145 no joke!!!!
The Fz is subtle and has its own den......you can cruise with ease yet corner and red line like a yammie does.....its spares are equally costly but AFFORDABLE.....and not much body parts are involved...it also returns a decent fuel economy ( said this cz rates in India are rising ). To ride a bike economically in such conditions, the FZ is the preferred option.....plus you can buy good gear since you also have the amount of purchasing a ZMA.. You do not wish to spend another 8 to 10k in buying motorcycle gear!!!!!!
PLUS HERO AND HONDA HAVE PARTED WAYS SO I DONT KNOW HOW THE SERVICE IS GOING TO BE.....PARTS AND EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE HANDED OVER TO HERO OR I GUESS ITS ALREADY HANDED....BEFORE MAKING THIS CHOICE PLEASE THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE TOO....NOT 10-15 YEARS TYPE BUT ATLEAST 2 YEARS...SO DONT BE IN THAT LOOKOUT WHERE THE PARTS WILL BE AVALIABLE IN EASE AND ALL....

              I repeat my bottom line
              Serious speed and looks----ZMA
Fuel economy and comfort + high end riding gear ---- FZ
If possible try for the FZ-S looks good!!!!
You get the motorad look when driving with complete gear

              cheers mate..

Thanks buddy. I'm weighing in all the pros and cons.
Unavailability of spares might be a BOON too...who knows i may be compelled to go for an upgrade, 3-4 yrs down the line.

The looks factor had brought in Fazer too, but discarded it after analyzing all quotients.

Thank you guys for your inputs.

Went ahead and booked FZS BLACK CYBER GREEN , 76,800/- on-road in Hyd. Will be taking delivery by this month end when i'll be in India.

The factors which influenced my buy against ZMA.

                  ZMA:
                  1. Heard TOO many fork/fron shock absorber/front wheel wobbling problems.
                  2. Spare parts not readily available. I cannot just wait for 10-14 days for a partcular spare when i'll be in India for only 3-4weeks. Doesn't make sense. Agreed even though i wouldnt need them for atleast 2-3 years.
                  3. Dated design.
                  4. I ain't a tourer, i just go to suburbs to some dhabas that's it.
                  5. Split of Hero n Honda.
                  6. Guess too many people are thinking like me, Hero Honda registered a drop in sales by approx 16%

                  FZS:
                  1. It's a Yamaha.
                  2. Mid range Torque.
                  3. Macho looks.
                  4. Fabulous rear tyre.
                  5. Did i say Yamaha?!
                  6. Oh yeah n it's a Yamaha

                  P.S: Special thanks to Eshan-P180.

that's not correct..you said FZ is more comfortable then ZMA? i doubt that you rode both for considerable long distance..& even their won't be any such difference between FE of both bikes..even FZ delivers FE around 40kmpl & ZMA also delivers close to that figure..
