    Choose between Rodeo and Access.

Rodeo, to me, feels zipper than access but Access has better build quality. Rodeo is silver light ensuring that your wife has good hold of the bike
But Rodeo has not been reporting very good fuel efficiency figures.

Consider Duro as well. It would save you many thousand bucks starightaway and is a very good scooter. Just that Mahindra doesnt have that good a service base as of now.

Ask your wife to test drive both and go for the one which suits you both. My preference would be the Rodeo

Prefer not to go for the Hondas you mentioned. No doubt that they have a silky smooth engine but thats about it.
My dio doesnt take the load of my mom and dad together and its just 1 and half year old. Fuel efficiency figures are a dismal 30-33 kmpl since day one under sanest of ridings of my dad. Dio sports THE WORLDS WORST FOOTPEGS FOR THE PILLION. The position is immensely uncomfy and awkward. However, I am yet to come across a scooter which can handle better than a DIO....!
Access and Rodeo are technically better and VFM products and Hondas are unjustifiably costly!!!

EDIT: For your reference, you can also read this article for Rodeo and Duro

For your wife Even the Scooty Streak will be good enough decent performance with good fuel economy. All the scoots you mentioned will never deliver anything above 40 kmpl in city riding but Scooty Streak manages more than 50 kmpl also its size is best suited to Ladies.
I advice this as i have all three Access, Activa and Streak in my family, i like Activa the least because of dual link front suspension which makes it unstable while hard braking. Streak has little lesser performance but is adequate.

Stay away from Duro. Bad ride quality and one of our member recently bought it and now regreting.

Suzuki Access is a very good scooter, but I would rate Activa on top due to service availabillity and great reliable engine with high mileage. Access gives only 40 kmpl in city. Activa gives 48-52 kmpl in city.

Dio is good but it still has old 102cc engine. Activa comes with new powerful 110 cc engine. Though waiting period is long, better go for Activa.

Wego yet to see the showrooms. It was launched in November, and now it is almost April; no clue when it will be launched.

          Are these widely accepted figures..??
Coz with the 102cc engine my dio and my friends activa (almost similar in age) returned/ returns dismal FE of 30-33 kmpls....!

I am not taking into consideration the worst traffic conditions. I am using Aviator now (102 cc engine), and with moderate traffic, I am able to get 46-48 kmpl, keeping throttle under 45 kmph. The current 110 cc engine is 15% more efficient and all magazines reported a mileage of 48-50 kmpl, except ACI. ACI tested it in worst traffic with spirited throttle and the engine returned 44 kmpl, which is quite good.

But, 33 kmpl is very low even in worst traffic for 102cc engine.

Yups I know, and I have been complaining it from day 1...

All those people do is detune the engine further aggravating the already underpowered engine's capabilities...!!

I agree with you partly, but 102cc old engine has good midrange and I never felt mine is detuned and is pulling nicely in traffic; of course, the pickup is just fine for city traffic and you never feel any rush in power. It gasps for breath after 45 kmph. Moreover, when I got the bike from my friend, I have changed the spark plug, air filter, and using Petronas synthetic engine oil. Bike is in perfect condition. Many will not take care of all these things and end up with low mileage. Sudden push of throttle results in poor milage too. A lot depends on the riding style.

Thanks everyone for your great insights. As most of you suggested would surely td access and would be checking on the wait period of activa and dio, and would get back to you all.

PS - We still have Honda Activa 2005 model, its good & we like it, but I somehow find Access 125 better to ride; doesn't give that hefty feeling.
Does the old activa model still roll out. Coz that was one of my favourites.

Considering we had similar requirements for my bhabhi, we got her a Mahindra Rodeo (Which i am using currently due to my cashed out 220.). No idea about any FE figures as its just 65km old right now. But it will be near 40 for sure.

                      Reasons for buying Rodeo:
                      Access Waiting = 4 months
                      Activa Waiting = 12 Months
                      Rodeo Waiting = 0 (zero)
Largest in class boot = 22lt = Rodeo
Key hole magnetic sheild = Safe from vandalism (In 2005, a vandal had put fevi quick in my bike key hole)
                      Cig lighter charging socket.
                      Front Fuelling = Convenience++ = Rodeo

                      -VEs of Rodeo:
                      Smallish Tank = 4.5lt

I can do a tank-ful to tank-ful avg run if you really want me to.

Please stay away from Duro, as the Telescopic Front forks on Rodeo/Flyte are much better.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Alright guys did some inquiries and got these results:

                          Suzuki Access:
                          On road: 49k
                          Waiting: 40 days.

                          Honda Dio:
                          On road: 43k
                          Waiting: 50

                          Honda Activa:
                          On road: 47k
                          Waiting: 60+ days

Andy Rebels, you will not regret whatever you buy out of the three you mentioned. If you are concerned about service and mileage, please wait and go for Activa. Access gives only 40 kmpl city where as Activa gives 48 kmpl.

Regarding Dio, the engine is still the old 102 cc engine, and why to buy the old engine when there is a new engine with improved power and mileage is available in Activa? If you are still okay with Dio's engine, then it is a good choice.

If you feel the service of Suzuki is okay and convenient at your place, you can go for it, that too if you are not concerned about the mileage. Of course, the 125cc has the edge over the 110cc of Activa in power (only marginally).

This seriously sounds optimistic to me. Even though I don't have one and can be wrong altogether, but I have never heard anyone around me with Activa even quoting anything above 40. All of them quote 32-40. Perhaps either all of them have screwed up their riding skills or don't know how to measure mileage .
