^^ there is no UG 4.5 I guess and no special 2010 version out yet but I have laid my hands on the old one and if maintained properly it is a very good bike giving 50+ mileage..

I also didn't found any noticeable difference between the two apaches 160 and 180 but may be in the top end there might be noticeable difference..

You can also consider the FZ best in th 150cc segment... very refined engine.. best looking bike in that segment and it is a Yammy too.. and a great performer in the city.. Mileage figures will be around 45-40.. with top end of 124 on speedo..
Riding, loving and enjoying my lord of the streets.. FZ-S...

And dreaming of an R6/R1/FZ1/CBR 1000RR

My sincere advice is to stick to your original booking. The GS will suit your personality&fulfil all your requirements too.

thanks sarvajit!! After going through ownership thread of gs150r,found that it has some problems...even am thinking to stick to my booking..

but how reliable is p180 on a long run[5+++ years]???
how refined is the engine compared to gs150r and uni..can u give scores out of 10 for refinement for all bikes..

        pros: stylish with good handling
cons: cost is more than 180cc bike and mileage is less than any 150cc bike!!!

FZ16 cost here is 70k and FZ-S is 72k not talking about special editions.. if the price is 75 there than forget about it

2-3K price difference shouldn't be considered while selecting the bike.. You know what you are looking for in a bike, test ride each bike and select the one according to your needs.. (performance, looks, mileage, price, service, parts & accessories available/price, ride quality...what ever it is).... Any was its your first bike and you will get a better one in future when you get a job.....

You want my honest opinion? Going by all the cases I have seen with my friends' bikes, here are the answers:
              1. 4.5
              2. 8.5
              3. 9
              4. 5
That said, there are UG 4 Pulsars which I have seen rebored in 30K kms.&other Classics which are more than 75K kms.old&going strong.
A common problem I have seen is silencer rusting in most Bajajs, leave alone Pulsars. Maybe you can absorb minor niggles, some others can't.
On the bright side, spares are very cheap so they won't rip you off like the Japs.
But would you prefer replacing low cost spares often or have something which doesn't wear out so soon?
Pulsars don't have a reputation for quality the way Japanese bikes have.
But there are owners who have maintained their bikes impeccably for ages too.
              Take your pick.

FZ has best looks in its segment but dont u feel 75k is too much for a 150cc...even mileage is less compared to other 150cc bikes..
              pros: stylish with good handling
cons: cost is more than 180cc bike and mileage is less than any 150cc bike!!!
              I bought a 150cc which costs 1.15L
Different products are made to suit different customers' needs-some need mileage, some will pay extra for looks (Fazer)&so on.
In general, I feel you cannot go wrong with any of the Jap bikes.
If you are looking at a long term hassle free ownership, don't base your decision solely on mileage or cost factor-a few kms.here&there or a few thousands more won't really matter in the long run.

p180 suits ur requirements pretty well.........
it can give 50kmpl if ridden properly,i had my frnd's ug3 for 3 months n it gave me 50-52 kmpl constantly with avg speed of around 60-70 kmph.......
its very comfortable n won't give any trouble if properly mentained........+its very comfortable.....n though its not as refined as the uni or gs but is not bad at it either.....

sorry guys i was not able to decide on my first bike
here is an update .. i delayed my purchase for few days because of some personal problems.. my requirements have changed as am getting transferred to a different college which is just 2kms from my house..

so i will be traveling 2+2=4kms daily and occasional trips[150kms] once a month...so mileage is not a big concern now
Also the new launches this month are making me confused even more..
Honda dazzler,CBunicorn and fz-s[new graphics] have impressed a lot..
my budget is 70k...any idea about on road price of dazzler?
                    bikes in my list,
1]Gs150r-very close to my heart being a suzuki fan.. reliablility?will it be look good for a student like me?
2]p180-VFM,but worried about engine life[5+ years]
                    3]Dazzler-not yet on road
4]fz-s-wats the on road price???will it be look good for my height?
5]CBunicorn-outdated looks.. else it will be my cup of tea..

i feel if you want to travel 4 kms then buy a automatic rather.

But if you really still want to go for a bike which has good looks then FZ is top notch but i never found it comfortable for me i am 6feet 1 inches even Apache I wan't comfortable with.

Dazzler is expected according to some this 19th Don't know how much it is true but Sure it will not be in 70K since 62K is on road Delhi Uni price so expected it to be 15k more.

GS150R now really some say about it being New but hey it's Suzuki which is no less compared to Honda. Suzuki i have never seen Any one complain about the Engine though some say about engine noise but every bike has its own but it is smooth for the 2min i drove which i borrowed from someone to test ride was Good. Now GS does look a bit like Pulsar from front but the tails are wow!.Will it look good i think it should and Since you are tall i see it more suitable but rather click a pic when u test ride can assess yourself

CB Unicorn man Honda makes one of the best engines this bike has been there for years and still can't compete with its refinement. But major factor spending same amount as GS and not getting all the gizmos which you will getting and I personally had horrible time with the SVC.

On the whole not My Vote To GS but if you really want to play very safe then Uni.

Now i think you have Test ride the Uni Try the GS i had only couple of min with it so can't comment much but i felt very comfortable and best part i had some relaxation to my Knees though need to test in Long run.

Pulsar 180 now i have got mixed response from my Friends who have it some say it is good but 50+ mileage difficult. Some friends have complained about the lack of quality spare parts and high maintainence after some time. Looks now no question about that it looks good.

i had been to Karthik auto couple of hours back..
Took a test ride and all i can say is am very impressed..
gear shifting was butter smooth in a bike which showed 24kms on the odo..
so i can expect much smoother gears after servicing..
power delivery was very smooth,30kmph to 70kmph was awesome..
Just checked dazzler on net..its finally released with slight increase in power[14bhp] compared to unicorn..waiting to see the bike in flesh and take a test ride before i decide on my first bike!

Dazzle is priced at 62,900 delhi on road may be around 65k dazzler is to comptet with yamaha FZ The price of dazzle may be close would be above 70 k (on road may reach 76 or 78 ) in bangalore. I would call it as worthy investment if its at 65k to 70k on road at banngloreit carries the same dependable unicorn engine and their was no major core level change in it . Except looks still the GS150R will beat it on performanceRemember: once booked dazzle delivery wait period is not lesser than 2 months. FYI: karthik auto is a sub dealer good for test drive but their price is at least 1000 rupees costlier than dealer (airport road and millers road suzuki)
