surprise surprise got the new pulsar

...its been a roller coaster ride from "the blue looks awesome on cb" to 'oh the honda engine is butter smooth".. to "nahi bhai lets go and give jive a check..." later " arghh it sounds so much and drives like a ct 100 " to finally ending up with a ravishing red pulsar 135 ...
yeah one test ride of this new age pulsar with its sporty stance, rev friendly grunt and space age looks made the cb look so boyish and underpowered ....
no doubt cb twister is a wonderful product with vfm ride quality and absolute stunner for looks .. but the rider in you just makes you so greedy .... and hence an elder brother falls for lip smacking power instead of sedate biking logic....

so im writing this message with heart felt warmth towards the devilish pulsar with no harm intended towards either jive or cb.. both are good in their own respect and i agree with most here that cb is a good enough deal for starters but having driven the feminine dio for 6 years my appetite for a rev friendly bike just grew on me and i fell for the 135..

now i need help of the xbhpians to guide me with the correct "run in " procedures and pointers to keep this ride hale and hearty.

i must say pulsar 135 is a good vfm product and it delivers what it promises.. i would have fancied a more naked look on it vis vis a comet but thats asking for too much.. bajaj have innovated well getting most things right here and i hope their RnD minds keep churning stunning products ..

p.s how do you edit the thread title?? or do the mods have to do it ... if so than mods please edit the title as ive cb and jive are long forgotten machines from now on in my household

and yeah jd666 my brother absolutely adores his new possession but being a responsible rider i know what to instil in him to keep him safe
    thank you guys
    regards

is it just me or the rear tyre hugger looks shabby to everyone??.. i must say thats an eyesore apart from the saree guard which im planning to remove pretty soon but before that wanted to ask the seniors here if it could do more damage than good.
apart from this i wanted to ask if the engine could be spray painted in black??
as i fancy a black and red combo continuing through the profile, besides this i thought putting a red tape around the inner circumference of the tyre [ i dunno how to put it] might make it more appealing .. i wanted to stream line the aesthetics of this baby but was apprehensive if my ideas are an over kill any more suggestions to sooth the looks further are more than welcomed

is removing the tyre hugger and saree guard just a nut bolt job easy as 1- 2 -3 or is there a specific DIY routine to it??

^^without rear hugger the bike looks skinny, and splashes water dust to all new heights!!
there is a joint on the hugger i just removed the extra part,
and for thr run-in do not rev the engine for more then 4k mark for 1000kms and your bike will be fine!
try leaning on the bike its just awsome feeling it is super sticky on road.

Seems like you have been "Jiving" around with your choice and finally gave a "twist" to the whole thing. Congratulation on your new p135!!

we are looking for a good supplement bike.. one that can take you for small trips,
swim through traffic like a fish is low on reliability issues has good a.s.s support and all of this without sky high fuel bills
Dad ruled out a higher capacity bikes as he finds them too dangerous for my kiddo brother whos only 17 and is not too mature with his riding culture ... money was not much of an issue so i suggested jive and cb twister to dad to which he readily agreed as that'll prevent him from being a throttle jockey
vis vis apache and the pulsar family
as it is family doesnt support bikes for lack of safety much to my chagrin but something is better than nothing as im not inclined on proving biking logic to them.
The mileage issue rose as my 6 years honda dio has become a petrol leech and its performance is nothing to boast of considering how it behaves like a grand ma now when it comes to pick up
so we are looking for a good vfm product that gives a hassle free ride without the need of filling up every now and then.. i ve gotten sick of dio's 6 litre capacity and constant trips to the gas station

im listing the pros of both the products and i request my fellow members here to make this a dilemma free decision with their pointers

                cb twister
                1. out of the box cbf1000 inspired looks
                2. extremely reliable tried nd trusted honda 110 mill which even the activa has been using

                tvs jive
                • novelty value of this out of the box product
                • traffic snarls no more a pain clutch free smiles
                • anti knocking engine no stalling can start with any gear slotted
                • decent looks though sedate when compared with the twister
                • price sounds quite a bang for buck

thats all i could think off impromptu .. we are planning to buy one of these bikes asap so i would be really happy if the knowledge pool on xbhp makes this a breeze citing critical cons and pointers

                wilco
                keep the blue side up

The Cb twister fills your requirements. It gives a mileage of 60-70 km and is easily the best looking 100-125cc bike. The premium price only justifies it. This is definitely a bike made for young people. The bike is light and can be handled without a breeze through city traffic.
The pickup is not as good as you expect from a 110cc bike but is ok.

The tvs jive is essentially the ladies bike. The very idea of riding a bike is for its control. The absense of clutch takes away most of the control from the rider and the knock free engine and any gear start, better look for a scooter, which has the added advantage of plenty of space. (not honda dio)
IF you are not much of a pro in handling bikes, this would be ok for you but if you want a real Bike, go for the cb twister.
                Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

i must say this pulsars looks grow on you everytime you walk upto it for a ride.. being in thr run in period with neck deep traffic ive not been able to enjoy what bajaj claims... suspension and nice throaty torque seem to be a class act .. but im not as satisfied with the looks .. yeah greedy bugger you might say but if owners and other riders could advice me 'easy on the bike' visual tweeks .. not with a super poser value but something that leaves you contended every time you have a look at it..
i really like motor cross like helmets and have been on the look out for a red one or a white helmet with bad ass graphics.. would wega suffice??
or is a red helmet an overkill.. another decent choice would be a black matt finish.

keep your views pouring in guys

You can wait 1 month for new(new Stickered) HH Passion Pro with digi clock and LED back lights. The bike looks sharper than the current Passion.
