Also he had replaced the rear tire 100/80 with 100/90 - will it affect performance ?

I wanted to ask whether it is a good deal or not?
What else should i look out for in the bike to test it throughly before buying?
    Also i m 6"feet and well built...will R15 suit me?
Dude if you are 6ft then think before you go ahead. I have heard R15 is a little difficult to ride for tall people. I don't want you to land up with a back ache. And about the tire replacement. There might be slight decrease in perfomance(negligible) but it will definitely have a negative effect on your mileage. 75K sounds cheap but do a thorough check before buying. Do check why he is selling it firstly?

IMPORTANT: For this you'll have to start a new thread. We aren't allowed to discuss in somebody else's thread. Still I just replied to help you. Do start a new thread and there are enough people to guide you(far better than me).

      I have only 2 options i.e P220 or R15.

I am going to cover 60km daily way to my office (120km bothside).

      mileage is no issue.

i have gone through several threads for R15 and P220 but still confused.

i want to invest once for next 4-5 yrs.

As R15 is FI and with 6 gears a good technology same side P220 is a wild beast.

Both bike fights for 135+ km/hr speed.

i have heard that R15 shows it's power above 6k rpm, is this true?

i will going through the highways 60 km---40km of NH and remaining 20km city ride.

please suggest me which one to buy, because i need safety and comfortability too. i mean tyre, grips, performance , maintenence, future of the bike, and latest technology.

      Thanks in advance.

      PLease start a new thread.

The top speeds of each gear you have mentioned, may be you got it after revving the engine to it's extreme limit, that too with speedo errors (as you've honestly mentioned). But the acceleration of the bike from 0 to 60 or 80 in your video is simply unrealistic for a stock pulsar220. It is what I feel. It looks like you've done some performance mods. Anyone who sees the video will notice this. Or maybe, a couple of secs of the video are missed/corrupted, which give the feeling of this acceleration.

Wow man!! amazing video. This video inspires me to buy a P220.

            Thanks in advance.

If you need for 4-5 years, then don't go for indian products. Go for yamaha. But R15 is not comfortable for long rides as you are 6 feet tall. If you want more comfort than reliability go for P220. If you want more reliability than comfort go for R15. If you want both comfort and reliability, then you have to add another bike as an option.

well, since u have a lot of highway ridin,go for the 220 eyes closed...
the r15 is a good bike but is limited by tooo many factors

              1.cost- almost 1.2lakh

2.150 cc - i know that is not a big issue since it gives ~ 17bhp,but still a bit more power and some more cc would be better since ur payin a hell lot of money.

3.track oriented bike rather than street - gets on the stride only above 6k rpm,so shoulod be revvin like hell, milage goes out the window

4.ur personality - verry much limited by ur height and weight - anything above ~5.8" and ~70 kgs will spoil the looks as well as performance of the bike.

5.seating position and pivilion comfort - as i said before, not for the highways - if used, should be ridden very fast so as to reach in a short time.

              6.lot of very good alternatives - p220,zmr,royal enfield,etc

the 220 will easily last 4~5 years,no probs.. replacing worn out parts will be very cheap since it's bajaj and also don't forget the 21 bh and the mountain of torque...
read this to get wat the 220 dts-i's made off...

A bike can't be good if it is limited by factors

                  1.cost- almost 1.2lakh
ownership threads shall give details on longevity and quality of parts used

2.150 cc - i know that is not a big issue since it gives ~ 17bhp,but still a bit more power and some more cc would be better since ur payin a hell lot of money.
150cc isn't an issue and i am still mentioning it

depends on what the rider prefers, no power after 8k or a secondary kick at 9K

4.ur personality - verry much limited by ur height and weight - anything above ~5.8" and ~70 kgs will spoil the looks as well as performance of the bike.
any Motorcycle's performance will be affected by the weight its carrying,
                  some more, some less

5.seating position and pivilion comfort - as i said before, not for the highways - if used, should be ridden very fast so as to reach in a short time.
Pillion comfort=0 and a big one on the R15
but riders have conquered SS and GQ

In short, it should have been read as--R15 is a crappy motorcycle, look elsewhere,

On dyno P220 dtsi can do more than 150 and i've done it . i've pic and video to prove it.
On road, it does 150+ on speedo easily. I've done it on my bike and other 220's also.
We have tested with GPS also,
when speedo was showing 151, GPS showed 139.5kmph.
so, at 153kmph or 155kmph it will be over 140+ true speed.
regarding bike doing 50kmph in 1st gear, yes it is capable of it.
Top speeds on each gear which i've done and remember:
                      1st-52kmph
                      2nd-80kmph
                      3rd-107kmph
                      4th-137kmph
                      5th-153kmph

What magazines tested are on new bikes which had not done run-in.
Even i could not cross 134 when my bike had done 2k kms.
Once it crossed 4k and 3 services, it completely opened up and does more than what magazines claim.
So, true speed of P220 is nearly 140 and on speedo, it will be 153+

                      My Dear Friend manu,
I agree that p220dtsi is a very good bike & gives max speed of around 145+, has i am the owner of it I have reached 135+ & i noticed that it would had been more, but the road ended.
But in ur Video It seems that u have definatly done some kind of mods. has ur RPM is touching or Crossing red lines. It is surely not possible in Stock bike.

ANd dude how did u manage to get this video. where did you kept the camera?

Bike is ought to red-line. Any bike will touch red-line untill its cut-off is alot earlier. And P220 redlining is not a new thing, it cut's off after redline. Any final decision on which bike?

                          My Dear Friend manu,

No mods. Atleast on SPEEDO a stock P220 can touch 150kmph, although it is not real speed. But, anyone can touch that speedo shown speed without mods on a P220 Dtsi. My friend has touched 142kmph on his stock abused P200, and P220 is a very capable bike.

                              Fazer or Pulsar 220

                              Hi friends..
I am planning for a new bike soon. I have pulsar 150. Really amazing bike in terms of looks, comfort, fuel efficient and stability.
Fazer is much attractive as far as looks are concerned. But it only 153 cc and much costlier as compared to pulsar 220. Pulsar 220 has good engine power but comes without kick start.
So, I am much confuse between these two bikes.
Can any one guide me in following things to finalize my bike:
                              1. What is difference between engines of Fazer and Pulsar 220 apart from DTS-i technology of pulsar and cc.
                              2. Stability of bikes for 90+ km/h speed.
                              3. Is there any issues with pulsar 220 for not having kick start..?
                              Thanx...

some people claim pulsars have vibrations at this speed, while others claim they don't exist. nothing of the sort exists for the fazer. It just takes a lot more time than p220 to reach that speed and the acceleration from there is pretty sad. Fazer is better on the corners though.
