Gladiator owner here for 6 months, and first time bike owner, so I cannot do a comparison but giving my own bike report.

I had few misgivings about the Gladiator initially but that may be because I was new to biking as well - cold starts, stiff gear shift, etc.

Now, the bike is solid. It has taken all the abuse that I have put it through as a new rider and it has come out shining.

        Only three peeves:
        1. Deal with the Yamaha service guys very carefully.

        2. This bike is like a diamond - very rare! This makes accessory hunting very difficult.

        3. Contrary to other xBHPians, I am getting nightmarish mileage of 41 kmpl. This is in my case only, others are reporting 55kmpl. Reporting it to service centre did no good. I am watching my riding style and trying to improve; and keeping a watch on the mileage.

Also, I suspect Gladiator may have reached end of life and Yamaha may be introducing a new model in the 125-135cc segment.

Choose between these two Pulsar 135 else Stunner CBF....
Both are VFM and has almost all the advanced features......

If you ask me to Pinpoint between these two......I would blindly go for Pulsar135.......

          Pulsar 135

          More power than Stunner
          Disk brake
          DTSI
          Digital Speedometer

          Stunner

          Better power for its class
          Smoother engine
          Optional Disc brakes
          Now comes with Tachometer too

stay away from flame, star sport and glamor.
            can't say about glamor f1.
            this is just my opinion.

For pure mileage Discover 100 cc

For style, performance, bullet-proof engine, smooth and refined engine, reliability, and mileage CB Twister. More over, CB Twister's performance is equal or better than some 125cc bikes. You can forget about Stunner, gladiator, and other 125 cc bikes.

P135 is completely in a different league and outperforms every bike you listed in performance (even many 150cc bikes). But, if you want to keep the bike for long years, there is a risk. Same mileage may not be guaranteed after two years.

why not add new discover 150cc to your list.It comes in your budget as well.If you are new to biking go for bajaj bikes.they are ruf and tuf bikes and spares are cheaper.

                  Hey bro,

Go for 100cc bikes if you want just mileage. But the 125cc bikes these days offer both mileage and adequate perfomance. Pls let us know what mileage you are expecting. Is perfomance a criteria?

BTW just to brush you up with some info,
Stunner-Mileage 50+ under normal driving. Costly for a 125cc. But highly reliable(All Hondas are reliable!). Really stunning and sporty looks!

CB Twister- The best commuter in market now. Highly refined engine compared to other 100cc bikes. Slightly sporty seating. Awesome looks. Mileage should be around 60.

Shine-A 125cc commuter. Silk smooth engine. Very light bike. Tires are not so good. Mileage 50+. Decent perfomance. Bland sleek looks.
Honda bikes won't be high on maintainence I guess.

Passion Pro- Highly reliable. Has that proven engine from splendor. Dated looks. Don't expect the word perfomance to come up here. Mileage will be 65+ confirmed.

Glamour-My uncle owns the non disc alloy wheel model. Had been riding it for several months. So, acc to my experience....the seating is high but comfortable. Reliable bike. Sounds a little loud. Mileage is on the lower side-45+. Not a hit model so I wouldn't suggest this one.

P135- Go for it if you are expecting a mix of mileage(55) and perfomance(0-60 in 5.16s). Quality is a notch below the competition but not bad. Looks great! Damn value for money.

Discover-It has a smooth 100cc engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. So needless to say, you can expect very good mileage here(say around 70). Peppy perfomance which is adequate for city. Looks like the older siblings. Very small tires!! So bad stability on freeways.

Flame- Stay away from this one. A big failure model. Many have reported bad mileage. Anyways to be frank, it looks very nice.

Star Sport- Gives you good mileage(60+) and perfomance is also adequate. Looks very small and tiny but decent looking yet. I always feel this bike suits better to who are lean. Not so stable.

Gladiator-Very reliable bike(of course, its a yamaha!). Mileage should be 50+ but will definitley go down on thrashing. Performance figures are really good.

Now let us know your exact requirements and we'll be able to filter the list.

                  100cc doing 100+ is awesome!!
150cc cornering like hell is great!

I was in the same dilema a couple of months back. After doing quite a bit of research I settled for the CB Twister. I am quite happy with my choice and it serves its purpose as a commuter very well. And thats exactly what it is - a commuter. Dont expect more and you wont be disappointed. I am getting a mileage of 60 km/L in Bangalore traffic. I do not exceed speeds of 50 km/h.

@TS you will keep on getting vague replies of the type 'What I have done is .....' unless you reveal more about your requirements from your ride. Also indulge details about yourself so that people may give you more infrmed + personalised replies. All this is required as your shortlist i not exactly short.

Moral: Tell us your height, weight, daily commute distance, City / Highway ride percentage, Budget, Mileage requirement, thrill requirement, back problems(if any) & no. of years(apprx.) looking to keep the bike before expecting any good suggestions.

Personal Suggestion: Go for Pulsar 135. Its the fastest of the lot, not very fuel hungry, light + zippy i.e. easy to manuveur through city traffic, should hold resale (better than XCD / Discover but not better than HH), costs less than Glamour FI and Stunner.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
