  • ZMA-R or ZMR

    Hi Guys,

I had decided to buy ZMA-R and so I had booked ZMA-R. But off late am inclined towards ZMR but am in dilemma.
Can you guys help me decide whether to go with ZMA-R or ZMR.

-> If going with ZMR how is the service reliability..?
-> Is the maintainence cost high in ZMR compared to ZMA ?
-> Is it really worth investing 20k more on ZMR?

If I have missed out anything please do add and give you open feedback which should help me in deciding.

    Thanks
    Shree

-> If going with ZMR how is the service reliability..? - HH service is going lower day by day.
-> Is the maintainence cost high in ZMR compared to ZMA ? - yes
-> Is it really worth investing 20k more on ZMR? - yes

now what is your requirement? if you intend on lots of long tours then go for zmr as it has fi advantage and 9 kg + weight adds to the stabiltiy with rear disk for safety.

if your riding is in cities or occasionally highways, touring then go for zma-r. ZMA-R has kick, so if you ride infrequent then it will be useful for you.

mileage of both bikes is more or less are SAME.

Fi engines are super flop in indian market, not because of technology but because poor road side mechanics and poor maintenance.
So for me it's a complete no-no to zmr.

But an absolute thums up to zma.

If u have the budget than ZMR makes a very good choice. Its a Better KArizma. Criper throttle, its even smoother, looks gorgeous, its more fuel efficient and comes will all the goodies like rear disk, Digi console, PGMFI and clip-on bars.

As its a FI, it should require less maintainance.

sometimes this fi proves very costly.[fuel pump failure can burn a big hole in ur pocket]

            @TC

i suggest ZMA-R coz maintenance would be on higher side for zmr. hh svc are even so not service splendor upto mark so just forget about zmr.

i think if you can then you should go for ZMR...nowadays i am seeing lots of ZMR's running on road and man they look Awesome...more price is justified because it is fully loaded with Rear disc, better rear suspension, FI ,digital console,Tubeless tires,Full body fairing, more average and more power from ZMA

Well most of the time I ride only on highways, almost every weekend. I have used my friends ZMA very much and I love the way it is. But heard and saw ZMR is even better. In my place they don't offer test ride, have spoke to showroom people that if they can offer me test ride then I might consider ZMR. Tomorrow will check it.

In what aspects will the ZMR be pricey to maintain compared to ZMA.
Due to FI and rear disc ??

it will be higher in maintenance in terms of FI[heard of failure of fuel pump in r15in this forum], Rear disk, Fairing would cost you a bomb, servcing.

zmr waiting time would be longer.

                    ^

Oh !! If the fuel pump fails then how much it will cost !! Won't that be covered under warranty as the bike has 3 years warranty !!

Regarding waiting period, Its readily available so I can pick ZMA or ZMR on Monday.

                      hey dude,
i would suggest against a hh bike as the quality standard of service are pathetic as they cant service splendors properly what they will do of zmr, in fact you have a budget for zmr go for the R15 after sales service quality of yamaha is improved a lot as compared to hero honda and again the zmr is more of technologically backward bike as compared to r15, since you already booked a zma-r u better go with it as i feel the zmr is a waste of money

Edit: i dont mean to hurt any zma owner sentiments its just my personal opinion

Well I am not comfortable with R15 just because I am more into Highways (to be precise touring) and R15 I don't feel comfortable.

If you want to do long distance touring and have the money, go for it.
It not, used the save money to buy good riding gear. You know Alpinestars and AGV sort.
None of the bikes will disappoint you.
