I guess people need to go out & do some research before advising...

The offer seemed too good to be true. Plans to take bike to a local mechanic who hardly drove my friend's std bullet 100 m and said oil pump is not working properly and piston is jamming, would need a replacement. Avenger or T-bird?

when it comes to crusing no come near to RE's...avenger is a flop show by bajaj.
Whatever replacement needed do it but according to budget, because this is a brand that will never ever lose its charm.

you can even take into acount zma but not ave.!!!!!

Thanks bro for your suggestion. Im really confused, quite contradicting statements.
I forgot to mention one requirement of my friend. My friend is settled in Saudi Arabia, he needs to clear back logs before he can go back. So the bike is needed for one and half year only. If there is anyone ready to give a T-bird for lease it would be great help.

              Dropped the idea

Guys, today I saw the bike. The bike is over 3 years old and its a 2008 model with over 30K on ODO. I was really furious to find the bike is so much older than previously mentioned. Bike has been modified to look like a Harley with lowered saddle, short handle and exhaust. The asking price was not negotiable as he insists for 60K, so decided to go for new Avenger. Thank you guys for your inputs.........

PS: @ Dhurjothi, if you are still interested in buying this T-bird give me a PM.

                Got a new Offer!!!

Today went to a dealer of Royal Enfield and got a very good offer. A 2008 November T-bird up for sale, done 30 K on ODO. Asking rate is 75 K. Some mods to reduce the saddle height by putting 17" 120 section MRF Zapper . Chrome plated silencer (inside as well) for increasing the thump. Changed both the sprockets and chain a month ago. Bike is giving a mileage above 40. No accident history and the reason for selling bike is to take a Classic 500. What do you guys say????

Avoid the bike. Doesnt really speak highly about the owner's taste(subjective) or how good was the bike used & maintained. Asking price is slightly on the higher side too. Keeping hunting for more or else get the Avenger.
You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

Current owner is only 5 3" thats the reason why he reduced the saddle height and my friend is 5 6" ,he felt the height very comfortable. We havent fully negotiated on the exact amount, if possible we will try to bring the price down to 65K as it has done 30K.

The bike is serviced regularly by a mechanic whom I trust. Mechanic said the owner of the bike used to bring the bike for a small niggle. And also my friend will probably sell the bike after a year.

Fixed the deal on 68K !!!

Guys finally my friend decided to go for November 2008 Model Thunderbird Twinspark. Today rode the T-bird for some 20 kms in city, this bike only wants to go in straight line, Since i ride GS150R on a daily basis i under-steered in the first turn, riding position and stability is commendable. One of the primary criterion satisfied, both feet can be placed on ground. The engine was revving very silently with monstrous thumb(owner has dont some kind of plating inside the silencer chamber to increase the thumb). Found the thumb very loud after crossing 4K rpm and its said to be giving mileage above 40 kmpl! Very satisfied with bike and decided to steal it...........

Total distance on ODO: 29,500 kms
Mods: Rear tire changed to 17", chrome plated silencer(inside as well)
Replacements: Primary and Secondary sprockets, drive chain, New tires on front and rear.
Looks: No scratches in Tank cover and mudguards(freshly repainted with a green tint)
                      Deal: 68,000 INR(I wanted it for 65K)

Thank you guys for your valuable suggestions.
