Good to see Yamahatrooper again, he was replying to my posts when I was in the same dilema 9 months back.

    Here is my 2 cents

If you like TBTS very much you can go for one.Absolutely no problem. You might like the looks of the bike but try seeing how you will look on it. Probably that might make a difference.

My suggestion would be to go for Electra than Classic 350/ TBTS/STD.

Since it has the same old Wheel size,Disk Brake, very good looks and affordable.

Good Old CI days are gone , so now only the Price and Looks plays the role in selecting the available RE's

Thanks Bubhanrajd for your input. If I go by the looks only while me seating on the bike, I think TBTS looks better, according to one of my coleague. I am 5'10", 73 KG, slightly on the heavier side. Planing to take my father while booking the bike, as he also can give some input for the looks dept.

This forum is very much helpful for the people who wants any sort of guidence regarding bikes. Long live X-Bhp.

Can anybody say what will be the cost of a pair of alloy. I mean with 4000 INR can I have a decent pair of alloy wheels? In kolkata where should I go for this if the brand store refuse to provide one?
Anybody who have installed one please post some pics.

      Thanks

My personal suggestion is not to go for Alloys, Instead you can buy Riding gears which will be very useful for you while touring.
Alloys are good for RE modded like choppers
        Just My 2 cents

Some good websites where you can find them if yoou are not aware.

        www.carmster.in
        www.planetdsg.com

Checkout the Riding gears section in Universal Thread in this site. Its very important to Invest in Riding gears while going for a 2 wheeler.

          Hey Bro,

I am sorry i have not read the inputs given by the other fellow menbers above so cant really say what have you already got from the thread. a recent ride on a TBTS makes me feel that you can have the old world charm of a bullet on them. but that does not make them any less of a bike. the engines are all the same when it comes to any of the 350 Models. just go for the visual effect that you like.

ES is not needed for the bullet is what i beleive but then again if you have it nothing wrong with it. the TBTS does not have any kinda problems with the ES. DISK upfront is recomended.

go for what you like. cause colors is all that you have to choose from.

Go get one, ride it on the higways, enjoy life

          Thanks

            Hola buvanraj

@ Arkayan No way bro! Leaves the spoke wheel on please if you keepin the bike stock. As buvanraj said the alloys look cool only on completely modded chopper like bulls that too when matched right with the rest of the bike! The RE bikes are classics and spoke wheels help maintain that look and feel.

Thanks a lot for your input Desideep. Knowing that all RE 350s are performance wise same its more difficult to choose one. But one thing is for sure, I can't go wrong with any of these 350s for the same reason.

Thanks Buvanrajd and Yamahatrooper. Got your point. I will keep the bike stock and will maintain it well so that it's shine last long, really long.
Will buy a good helmet real soon. As I am planning not to go for finance schemes, so I'll be little bit tight on the budget. Spending 1.5-2K should get a decent helmet. would you like to recommend any brand?

One more think to know what should be the idle rpm? And what should be the mileage from a new bull, so that I can ensure the bike is not running too lean?
Does it have any relation with the idle rpm? Sorry if the questions are too silly.

              Thanks

No clue my bull's never had a Tacho!

You don't figure out if the mix is lean or rich by the mileage, you can get a good mileage when the bike is in it's optimum state of tune. Anyways expect about 40 kmpl.

Does it have any relation with the idle rpm? Sorry if the questions are too silly.

Yes the questions are silly now! Now stop messing with your mind with these questions and get the bike

Thanks yamahatrooper. Will book one by the end of this month. Seriously its going to be the longest month for sure. Today talked with another RE brand store. They offered test ride on Electra and the TBTS. Also informed that both these bikes will be delivered instantly If paid with full amount . They are also taking the booking for CL350 with waiting of 6-8 months. How it is possible?
eagerly waiting for the month to be over. RE bikes without waiting sounds super cool.

Hi Yamaha Trooper. How have you been.Good to see you back here.

@Arkayan: Regarding the RPM during the runin period, Just refer the owners manul on page no 29. In the manual its not given as per the RPM But given the max speed in a gear.

I never crossed 2.5k RPM till i completed by 3k kms. Now my bikes returns 47kmpl in long if i ride sedately below 90kmph.In city i get 43KMPL + ,The worst i got is 39kmpl because of continuous ripping from goa to mangalore with a pillion and luggage.

I took the delivery from Bangalore Brandstore(Jayanagar) on october 7th 2009. Till now I have done 14k kms .

I have done few long rides.

                      1. After 1st service

                      Bangalore- coimbatore-bangalore 700kms

                      2. Soon after 2nd service- 2500 kms

                      3. Bangalore-Kuruva island- Bandipur-Bangalore should be around 750 kms

                      4. Bangalore-ooty- Coimbatore 410 kms

                      5.Coimbatore-Valparai-Athirampalli-Chalakudy-Munnar-Theni-Coimbatore- 750 kms

                      6. Coimbatore-salem-Pondy-Mahabalipuram-chengalpatu-kancheepuram-velore-Krishnagiri-salem-Coimbatore 1000 kms

The Bike has never given any problems during the rides.

After the 2nd service ,Cam wheel assembly was changed (dont know why it went off so soon) since I complained about very rough ride feel

I fitted a goldie and the thump is better .
