  • hello....from cold Milwaukee, Wisconsin

I used to ride bikes in India a long time ago, also ride whenever I am back. I have also been on bikes in Italy and currently ride/live in the US of A. Currently I have a 2009 ZX6R.

Glad to see riding motorcycles is fast becoming a life style in India, have fun and ride safe. Happy 2011.

Milwaukee reminds me of the birth place of Harley & Wisconsin is a beautiful state to visit especially for country life. I vaguely remember Wisconsin being associated with some diary queen or some highest diary products or something isn't it? Also it is one of the lowest crime rate in US right?

I'm eagerly looking forward to see pics around Wisconsin through you.

Welcome to xBhp Bharat & enjoy your stay.

You are correct on all counts. I think Harley is now the "official" (whatever that means ) motorcycle of Wisconsin. The #1 cheese producing state in the US is also Wisconsin. Northern Wisconsin (about a 3 hour ride from where I live) is apparently very pretty. Once I get the ZX6R out of storage, I will definitely post pics.

        Later, ride safe.

No, 08 CBR. I did find a lot of difference between the 05 and 08, not much between 06 and 08. The picture was taken right after I bought the bike, so yes stock tires. I think the bike had like 20 kms on it when I took the pic.

I don't have these bikes anymore. I sold the 250 to my friend and the CBR has been salvaged (unfortunately).

BUT I now have a 09 ZX6R which is still in a crate (winter), I will definitely post pics. once I start riding again in Spring. You have the 07 ZX6R, correct? Did you find info. on shipping your bike? I suggested some links in response to your post, hope they were helpful.

                  Ride safe, later.

Yeah, my apt mate has the 07 CBR, he recently got the leo vince exhaust and i think it sounds amazing on a otherwise relatively quite honda. Too bad about the salvage title man, how did you end up wrecking it? I once ate a twisty and had to change my side fairings (hence the carbon fiber! lol) but yeah, claiming insurance more than likely makes the bike so much harder to sell with the salvage title. The 09 zx6r is a very good upgrade kawasaki did compared to the tank of a 07-08. its the fastest 600 in my opinion, which color did you pick? what exhaust are you considering?

Appreciate your looking out with the shipping info, but i'm not too worried about that since my family already has a carton we'r shipping our household stuff in, (although the website was a great help in hooking me up with ideas to pack the bike!) i'm more concerned with finding some concrete info on custom, especially monetary info.

Did the blizzard run you down in wisconsin? or is it almost impossible to ride in the winters? cause we got cleared here in d.c and i'm still riding to the gym, as long as theres no snow, i dont care even if its in the effing 30's!

I high sided off the bike @ 30 mph (approx. 48 kph) on a sweeping left. I was leaned all the way over when 2 inches of my rear tire caught gravel and the rest is...history. I was in second gear, pretty much at max torque RPM.

I ended up completely shattering my right arm (I am right hand dominant) and had to get the arm surgically reconstructed from scratch. BUT if I was wearing only a helmet, I would have certainly died. According to the police report, I basically flew for 12 meters slammed (with my right hand causing the fractures) onto the pavement and then skidded for 40 meters. If I had just landed properly, I would have walked away with bruises. But oh well, thats the nature of high siding.

Interestingly, my frame sliders prevented damage to my fairings BUT the subframe of the bike is bent. The bike (according to a witness who was helping me) did a couple of 360 degree rotations and landed on the tires BOTH times. But the two landings and the subsequent skidding on the frame slider probably destroyed the sub-frame.

claiming insurance more than likely makes the bike so much harder to sell with the salvage title.
Actually I found out that progressive was auctioning the bike for $1000 in Sacramento, California (my bike engine is probably in a competition go-kart somewhere in California). My friend wanted to help me buy the bike back (I couldn't buy it because I claimed insurance) and sell the fairings (since they are OEM). But decided against it because it is too much work.

Went back to black color. I don't know about the top speed on the ZX6R, will have to go back to North Dakota to try it out . The top speed I have hit on the CBR is approx. 175 mph (281 kph) that I was able to sustain for about 10 seconds. The helmet gets slowly pushed into your face and the neck hurts (guess drag racing is not for me). Most important of all, don't want to go down .

I am actually not looking into an exhaust, have any suggestions? I am definitely going to get a Corbin seat, put HID lights, fender eliminators and install a Go-Pro mount (and camera).

Glad it helped, make sure you pack the bike well .

It is actually not impossible to ride here in Winter and 30 F (approximately 0 degrees celsius) is not really the problem. IT IS THE SALT ON THE ROADS. Gets everywhere on the bike. Could always wash the bike down but I will just wait for Spring. BUT I did see a dude riding around a KLR650 the other day, it was approximately 10 F (-16 degrees celsius). Then again, I think this is awesome BUT crazy:

yeah, my fall was very similar, taking some twisties, caught some gravel, bike skid some 20-30 feet to hit the railings? (cant think of a better word) on the side of the road, actually i was lucky cause firstly i was quick to get of the skidding bike and secondly cause the bike went and hit railing bang on the tires with the suspensions taking all the force, nothing but one side of the fairings cracked!

haha, if only i knew your bike was being auctioned! i bought a salvage 02 636 and am restoring it to stunt on/may be track at some point if i have the money to do it up. we got it a cage, took the lights off, front assembly, fairings, display every thing is off, shifted the breaks up front, the 12 o clock is ordered, the pipes and cut short, sprocket change, rpm idler, footpeg relocator, resovior relocated, mechanical engineers at hopkins, i dont think we have anything better to do!

so with the zx6r, i'v hit 176 mphr on i-95, not to proud, but i guess the bike just wanted it that day, i still feel it had some more in it, but also the digital readings are definitely not accurate. the 09 is way lighter and has added bhp, i'm sure it can go faster, but more importantly having riding preety much every 600 around the block, i think the kawa's are a monster on the streets and in city riding, its hard to keep up with! also way more low rpm acceleration. it also goes up to 20k rpms compared the cbrs 16k, um, yamahas are a waste in the city! and the gxsr are common, poser bikes, just my opinion , i also felt the cbr was not as powerful as the zx6r, may be cause the one i rode had a sprocket change,(the guy was big into wheeling) but they are amazing handlers and suprising easy to throw around with its compact riding position.

with zx6r, dont think twice, get the two brothers full exhaust system first thing after you get it inspected, you wont regret it! also i'v had bad experiences with hid's especially with winter riding, they drain to much of the battery, even in parking mode! no idea with the corbin seat, but fender eliminator is a must, also let me know how the camera mount works for you, i would love to add it to the stunter

                        keep us dated!

p.s, it must suck to know you have a new ride, but u cant ride it!
