    hi bike lovers

i am Vishwanath from Ahmedabad. I am an architect and an asst. professor teaching at CEPT University Ahmedabad. As an architect, i am an avid traveller and during my studies at various places (Ahmadabad, Zurich, Singapore) have extensively traveled around, but never on a bike! my other passion is photography, and somehow it goes very well with traveling

i have been using a Splendor since 2001 mainly for commuting. very occasionally i would go on 60km rides to sites outside Ahmadabad. i was quite happy with my bike, it was a faithful steed that never let me down. unfortunately, it got stolen last February from my university. luckily i got it back in a couple of months. but then it got stolen again, this time from my home and haven't got it back as yet

i really like the classic/retro looks in bikes. so i am a big fan of RE bikes, of Yamaha RX100, Yezdi bikes etc. at the same time i am also a big fan of maintenance free long lasting reliable bikes. so i like HH and Honda. my dream machine is a RE/RX/Avenger type bike with a HH/Honda quality. i know... its a dream!
    enjoy the slowness

Welcome Vishy (Hope thats how people would call you)

You might get too many words of advices from many, but still end of it you are going to use it, even if anybody recommends, just test drive and if you finalise on 2 or 3 brands / models, just write down the pros and cons of each bike and then choose the bike which you feel comfortable and which has more number of pros.

        hope I have communicated

                  thanks all of you!
its great to be on this site and see so many bike aficionados.
my quest for a bike continues... a bit tied up with classes and an impending convocation... hope to test ride bikes this weekend.

meanwhile the RX100 that i borrowed from my friend is doing the job exceptionally well for the time being!

Hi Vishwanath, welcome to xbhp. Hope you pick up a suitable bike soon and do take extra care. Its heart breaking to lose a bike and I am sorry about your loss.
The RX 100 is an awesome two stroker and great fun to ride as you may know. I did a Bangalore/Kerala/Bangalore ride on our 1987 RX 100 last December and truly enjoyed the ride. (A picture is uploaded in my thread in "The Tourer").

                      Welcome again and Ride Safe
