  • Hello Motorcycling World. !

    Hello Everyone.
My name is Rajiv Mantena. Indian. Living in Hyderabad. 20 yrs old. Mechanical Engineer in making.
Its been quite a journey for me and my love towards motorcycles.

Im still a bit uncertain from where this all started for me.
May be, Che guevara and his Motorcycle Dairies.
May be, the numerous travelogues of getting Leh'd that I've read over the past two years on the xbhp and other individual blogs.
May be, from the fact that Im a mechanical engineer.
May be, my desire for Enfields and the open roads.

I've registered on XBHP almost two years ago, and reading and collecting the mag's as often possible.
But,to my knowledge, this is my first post.
    I currently ride a HeroHonda Splendor+. 2005 make.
I have to thank XBHP for making me understand rule one of motorcycling "Biker is more Important than the Bike".

Two years ago, I felt a lot embarrassed when i had to park my bike along with other 150's and 200's in my college.
I felt if as if I was out of place. As if it was better to park it with staff vehicles.
Now, I still ride the same bike. Park in the same place. with mightier cousins of the previous 150's and 200's, But never embarrassed.
When my friend out of curiosity asked if I was being embarrassed, I replied "No. I left the Ego behind".
Now, I actually feel proud. I ride a bike with the most Reliability. It never troubled, even tough I never cared for it.

Several other good things have happened to me in the recent past as well.
    I wear a helmet. Daily.
I've learnt taking care of the bike.
    I've Learnt techniques. Counter steering.
I started riding away from the city.
    Thank you Xbhp for everything.

Now, when my friends keep dreaming of 4 wheeler's, I just pity them.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
