A very warm hello to all of you,I'm Dan Mathew
.I'm from Kerala(A place called Chengannur,Alleppey district to be precise).I'm a 12th std student.
Well,my earliest tryst with the vehicles in general started at a very young age.My mom sometimes tells me i could spot and name most cars,by the time i was 3(Like most of you guys out there).All throught my childhood i was a "ca(ge)r" fan.Started driving my Dad's faithful 94 Maruti 800 at 14 or so.By the time i was 16,he bought home a Swift Dzire.Dad being a very careful driver,seldom gave me a chance to drive the Swift,slowly my interest in cars died down(Not completely,but still) and i moved on being busy with School->Tutions->Home,routine.
One fine morning(The kind of mornings where the light is excellent and smoke from vechicles are clearly seen),after my 10th std results,i heard a scream..a scream that i seldom used to hear in our 4 str(j)okes biking scenario.It came from an YAMAHA RX100,all i saw was glittering chrome,classic golden pinstrips on black and loads of blue smoke!!.I would say that was one of the most special days in my life.It brought back all the memories of childhood,when i would be hanging on to the handlebar,sitting on the tank and my cousin(Back in the day owned an RX100) cruising or rather flying past the traffic signals and obviously the majestic and thunderous roar that only 2 strokes posses!
I suddenly realized that "Motorcycling" was a subject about which i least thought about,little did i know it would turn from mere fascination to enthusiasm to passion and lots more to go..
I take this moment also to thank all of you guys(Especially the 2 strokers(I'm not mentioning names as its a big list)).I was a constant visitor(but not registered) at xBhp and virtually have gone through most threads in the 2 stroke section trying to learn from the best brains in motorycling around.I've been visiting xBhp from the past 3 months and you guys have helped(Even though,indirectly) in choosing my first ever motorcycle.Yes,on October 10th,2013 i purchased a 1989 Yamaha RX100 from a friend.I have lots of queries that i have for the esteemed strokers here,right from the bike's condition to restoration(Plan to do it soon),But thats a different story.
