    Hi.

I am Anurag and am located in New Delhi. I recently acquired a Intruder (have already asked my first question in Help Me! forum for which Aryan answered instantly)

During college days, I used to do a lot of biking on my CD100 (one of the first bikes when it was launched) but the cycle of life caught on and now I am trying to catchup with the biking fun again.

I am looking forward to joining up on your SBK trips from Delhi and please advise which forum to join to stay updated on forthcoming trips?

Besides the intruder, I am also a proud owner of a 1948 Morris-8 classic car which I am about to complete restoring to its old glory.

    Cheers

    Introduction Approved.

Hello sir, welcome to xBhp! It would be real nice of you if you could share the two pictures which you've uploaded on the xBhp album, here in this thread. That would enable all of us to have a look at your behemoth - the Intruder!

Lest I forget, congratulations for getting the Suzuki!

That's an awesome looking Zuki you got there sir
Is it too much to ask for a ride-experience of the big Zuki from th day you bought her, memorable rides' etc..?

                        Overwhelmed

I am beginning to love this community!

The response is really only one word: Overwhelming

I am going to post some new pictures of the bike and also the picture of the Morris as requested (Before restoration... After restoration, which is expected to get over in the next 2-3 months) I intend to give it a different color scheme)

Since I bought the bike, I have only ridden it within the city mostly on the Sunday during the day or late at night when the roads are open and I can enjoy the cruise. One thing I noticed is the reaction it gets when I am on the street. Nearly everyone takes notice and some reactions I have had are:

                        - Last Sunday, I rode to United Coffee House in Connaught Place. First I was not allowed to park in the regular car park and the attendant wanted me to park it behind which I resisted and stuck the bike on the footpath right in front of the Coffee House. The bike was crowded and there were atleast 1000 people who took their pictures with the bike... When I was leaving, I was mobbed ... just to see when I start the bike! Something I noted is that people are generally happy to see it and but the first question is: Kitne Ki Hai?
                        - When I am riding on the street, and I have been on the road every day for atleast a short ride, mostly late in the night, cars pass me and a hand comes out with a thumbs up! makes me feel happy with my decision
                        - A down side that has prompted me not to take the bike to general places now on is that you just cannot leave the bike alone - parked. People sit on it and mostly I found people fiddling with the throttle all the time.
                        - Zipping past cars is a piece of cake, you position yourself and just ZIP. You disappear before they can blink.
                        - On red lights, you stop, you are looking at the light waiting for it to turn green. all others are watching you. When the light turns green, you go.. Others realize too late that the light is green !
                        - I found that riding the bike is better than moving in a car! you really dont have to jostle for space with other cars that much

The above are some initial impressions.. I am dying to go on a long ride and if members are planning something, please do let me know.

After this, I am going to upload some pictures in the thread.

Yes Augusta -- This is an official Intruder, I picked it up from the Suzuki factory near Gurgaon through the Suzuki Dealer

Wonderful way to describe the situation! Utterly hilarious.

This is the best part of it all. Nothing like an official vehicle.

As for the attention you are getting sir, it's pretty much the norm with anyone who has a 'Dhoom' bike (be it a superbike, a cruiser or even perhaps a chopper!). You'll surely get used to all this attention, eventually. I guess, at first you would feel happy, excited, amazed by all the attention. But as time will pass by, the 'regular' queries would start to irritate you a little.

But nevertheless, it's real lovely to have you amongst us here. Please do share more pictures with us, whenever possible.

P.S: One query which I had since the time you posted this thread was - why did you choose the Intruder? Is it because it is the ONLY cruiser available legally? Or is it because you wanted a Suzuki? Or perhaps you didn't want those back breaking postured SBKs?
                          :)

                              Hi! Anurag,

Congrats on both counts....becoming a part of xBhp and getting the Intruder. Great bike.

And yes, your description of moving around on a big bike is pretty apt. At times the situation does get crazy.

We are touring India on 2 R1's. Day before yesterday, while riding down from Daman to Vadodara, we saw a Rolls Royce Phantom on the road. The surprising part was that it was painted in the colors of 'The Mobile Store'. Red and White. Branded just like our bikes are branded in Castrol colours. Really surprising because a Rolls would cost almost 50 times more than a typical sbk.

Anyway, Sunny flagged the driver down for a chat. We all stopped by the roadside, the 2 R1's and the Rolls. No one, just no one was caring to even look at the 5 Cr car while all gathered around were going gaga over the bikes. it was only when Sunny announced the price of the car to the gathered crowd that the poor Rolls got some attention.

Good to know that you are keen on using your bike on a regular basis. Lets ride together when we return to Delhi..which will probably be on the coming 3rd. Lets meet up then.

                              Meanwhile....ride long and safe
I don't let my motorcycles interfere with my motorcycling...
