I spent close to a month researching which one I wanted. I knew I had to get a bike and I don't buy anything but what I feel is the best... The choice was amongst 3-4 sports SBK's v/s the lone cruiser available here officially since I am very particular about local support. (A Thunderbird crossed my mind but I have had a bullet for a year and I know that they can be a pain in the butt)

Moving from SBK to Cruiser was easy, the riding posture etc.. and the fact that I am now past 40 (though very fit) coupled with the urge to do long comfortable trips played a role.

Once I narrowed on the M1800R, I compared and checked practically all the forums on the net on this bike, reviews (including the one on xBhp).. The choice was to wait for a Harley at the end of the year or go for the Intruder now... When comparing with the Harley specs against this bike... the decision was made. It was more powerful than most Harleys, more cost effective with a very good visual appeal and after visiting the dealer, I fell in love.

I am happy with my decision so far. I also believe that Japanese technology is much more refined than the American one.

That very refinement of the Jap offerings puts some people off somehow
        Well.. So thats that..!!

A well thought out buy at the end of the day. Now all that remains is that elusive ride experience write-up from you, sir

          Hi OldFox,
I have actually been looking at the progress of your trip round the country. Till I decided to go back to biking and came to xBhp, I didn't realize how vibrant this community is and the passion you guys have for touring and biking... I am sure I going to be able to share the same passion.

I too noticed that the bike gets more attention than any car worth its salt on the road, no one even looks at a BMW 7 series but the bike is an instant eye-ball grabber! Aryan is also right, all the attention does get irritating sometimes but I understand people and their reaction... It is every boy's dream and "kitne ki hai" essentially translates into man, I want it too, let me ckeck if I can afford it. I dont mind it and the only thing that bothers me is when people fiddle with it or sit on it.. I feel violated - if you know what I mean.

l look forward to your being back from your trip. When you are back and refreshed, send me a mail and I will send you my contact details so that I can meet you guys up and plan for riding with you...

In the meantime, I will keep counting the days :-)

          Cheers

It would be an insult to the behemoth Intruder if a Uni rides beside it
If i do happen to be anywhere near Delhi, I'll tag alongwith the Delhi gang and G2G will surely be in order

                            anurag sir...a very warm welcome.
and congrats on your cruiser. Eager to meet you up and to see the beauty of the beast
But sir, some riding gears would be an icing on the cake.
I can see a KIMI helmet(strong)...it doesn't match with the bike sir.
                            its all about CC...

@Anurag: Sir, it was awesome finally meeting you at the Castrol Passion Hunt Delhi event yesterday! I was shocked to know though that you had parked your Boulevard outside!

But all is well that ends well.. Would love to meet you in the future G2Gs, if possible.
                                :)
