          Hi pal. You too ride safe.

          @Wilco
          Hehe.....I thought I would be the only one here with a soft corner for the dogs.....Anyways It's good to know that there are others like me who take care of these poor little things.....I mean they are shivering in the cold of the winter nights, they have to bear with the scorching sun of the summers, then the rains and the poor state of our water drainage system doesn't help them at all, not too mention that they are highly underfed, also they live on the street where they are prone to get involved in accidents or have fights with other strays...the injuries sustained in such events could be fatal but do anybody give a damn??.....and after all this if we humans cannot show these creatures a show of love and care by giving them some milk (I'm not saying we should feed them as if we would if they were our pet....just a glass full every morning and evening will do)....Do we qualify for actually being called humans...the most evolved life form in the universe as we know it??....I do the feeding part from the savings from my pocket money...and when I'm a little short on funds I just pat their heads and they understand.....Sorry for getting all sentimental....but that just it...I do feel very strongly about the pathetic condition of animals in our nation

          @ Petrolhead22
          Thanks buddy

          @Aryan Rajvanshi
          I am humbled by your appreciation sir. And a good thing happened, My friend-the owner of that discover has gone abroad for a pleasure trip & has left the bike with me. So as he is having pleasure abroad.....I'll be having my kinda pleasures from actually having a bike to ride regularly(if you can call 30 mins rides after I reach back home from office as regular rides)......He also was planning to get her serviced before leaving her with me but due to lack of time that got out of the scheme of plans for him...So now I have to get her serviced....yey this is exciting stuff.....I've already got her rear flat tyre all fixed up!! and things to come....new clutch plates + some work on the gearbox(believe me the shift from 1st to 2nd is so hard.....climbing mount everest could've been easier)......maybe a new throttle cable or maybe tightening of the idle rpm screw will do the trick.......I'm running on a budget of 1500(now left to 1300 as i had to give her a new tyretube for the rear tyre)....so I guess this much of work will suffice.......oh I almost forgot front drum brakes have been searching for new padsfor quite a while....in fact rear brakes aren't too good as well...but since I'm aoperating on a budget...she'll have to wait for the rear pads........and also I forgot ....engine oil....I think if engines could speak ..... her's would be screaming for engine oil by now!!......all this work to be done on sunday i.e. tomorrow before my own eyes and a friend has agreed to tag along as well ( Do you think I'm excited ?? Do you??)

          @Jonak
          Dude Parth was the name of Arjun, which was given to him by Lord Krishna. Now in Kolkata it is actually supposed to be pronounced as Partha (maybe has to do something with reagional dialect.....I could very well be wrong) but my name is Partha not Parth as my grandpa wanted me to have a name 6 letters long and starting with P.....So I was named Partha (with a silent last "a"). I clearly remember all my friends in school teased me by calling me parthaaaaa so I decided to chuck the "a" and just to go with "parth". Then came 10th grade and I had to sit for boards....had to go through a whole lot of trouble about that "a".....then finally decided to go with the rear "a" (as a token of respect to my late grandpa)....also I found a way to make people call me Parth and write me as Partha.....The "a" at the end is silent
          This may seem kiddish.....(probably is a bit).....but hey I'm here to express my views not to win an award on who's the most mature
          Anyways Thanks dude......Hope to see you around....Ride Safe.

                            @badbikerboy

                            Thanks brother.

                            And guys today was a bad bad day for my friend's fz16. As you guys might know that I was riding a worn and torn discover for the past week or so. My friend after seeing that I was very comfortable with the discover wanted me to graduate from that to his FZ (although this wasn't his idea but as it didn't go well I'm blaming it on him). I've had very little exposure to his bike(riding as a pillion doesn't really let you do much). I knew the gear pattern was different from the all down of the discover so I had that at the back of my mind. So I took her out of the center stand, put in the keys, thumbed the starter (while holding the clutch), slit her into first gear and slowly let go of the clutch while giving throttle. The tachometer was showing 3-4k when I pushed the throttle down and pushed the toe only lever up for the second gear. Soon came the third gear. Then a honda city came in front of me......it was quite far but I panicked and pulled back the brake lever. <= was the expression at my face when it suddenly stopped. I had used the disc brake wrongly. Even though the bike did not fall I was scared shitless. I guess I got used to those worn out drum brakes of the old discover and the FZ's disc braking abilities came in as a surprise.

                            Anyways I continued riding after reassuring my friend that I'll be carefull from now on. I continued riding straight untill I had to make a right. I switche dthe indicator on and looked in the RVMs, nobody was close from behind. Started taking the turn, and then realised that I was going in a bit too fast. Now this was the mistake. I forgot all about what had happened a couple of minutes before and pulled the brake lever hard. And down went we both. Bike fell to its right, with my leg under her, I saved her from any cosmetic damage. My friend shouted at whole lot of curses while geting the bike up. I was ashamed and sorry for letting my friend's beloved bike fall. I apologised and he finally decided to stop hurling curses at me while we were in the middle of the road, although he continued to do the same till we reached my friend's home. Finally he cooled down and started telling me how he has perfected the use of disc brakes and blah blah blah.

                            So when we took off for my place he decided to do a little stoppie which ended up in the bike loosing half it's brake lever, my friend a part of his right elbow skin while I sustained some bruises to my right leg.

                            Eventually I had to ride the fz till his home which thankfully went without any incidents and I had to take a rickshaw back home. Damn it, just when I thought I had learnt the major chunk of riding, this happens. Well I guess this means there's a lot more left to learn.

                            So definitely was a bad day for the poor ol' FZ which had to endure two accidents both due to it's riders' mistakes.

                              @parth- Sorry to hear about the incident(s). Yes you have to be careful with the disc brakes specially when you have rode a bike with drum brakes and suddenly go for a bigger bike. At the back of your mind you "HAVE" that thing but you need to adjust with the bike first.
                              Whenever you ride a new bike get used to it first then pull the throttle. As everyone says 'Every relation needs some time', a rider - bike is also a relation.

                              For your friend, I dont know how good he is at stunting and all these stuff but after having an accident it was wrong to go for a 'stoppie'. And I dont think you guys would be wearing any protective gear apart from the lids.

                              Whenever you have an intution that something is not right, give it a second thought (saying as a personal experience).

                              Anyways, now when you have experienced this I hope you will take care while riding and hope the bruises get healed soon.

                                I did get that intuition that something's wrong but I thought that enough is enough and that I could ride it off. I guess I was wrong.

                                Anyways, now when you have experienced this I hope you will take care while riding and hope the bruises get healed soon.
                                Bruises are all healed up now(though a little chest pain is still there). And I will make sure I go easy on the disc brakes in the future. Thanks for the advise and the concern Prateek. Xbhp is indeed a great place.
