Great drag you had there guys...I broke my specs unfortunately on Friday and was half-blind this weekend. So no chance. BTW regarding the drag, I guess you made a few mistakes with the R15-launch. As Killer and Joel said you need a perfect launch to win on the R15. Too bad those wonderful posts are gone forever...Anyways, I have done some unofficial() drags on my bike with my friend's ZMA and 220...As the power band of the R15 is way up(compared to the 220 and ZMA), you need to rev that thing to around 7.5K or 8K rpm before you launch it. Once u launch, tuck into the windshield and on the tank, else you will surely pop a wheelie and chop off the throttle. And shift at 9 - 9.5K rpm. Then you have a winning piece of machinery. I guess this is what Killer and Joel said and I followed this procedure. We will try this next time on the drag strip..

You guys have got good strip to drag and enjoy..... nice pics....

As far as I remember..... Killer said:
          1. Rev the bike to 7k+ RPM
          2. Just keep the clutch pulled by a mm or two before you de-clutch it completely
          3. At the instant when you need to start.... first pull the accelerator completely... then leave the clutch... this is done to minimize the power loss at start...
          4. Change gears at 9k rpm
          5. Tuck in completely.....

I dont remember if he said anything about clutchless gear shifts (Joel said he used the clutch just a bit.... just press it mid way n change).... Killer surely mentioned about revving more in a lower gear to get a better torque band RPM in the next gear !!

Absolutely true! i found the R15 very free revving, i also was shifting a bit early in the powerband because i am used to shifting for power at 8k rpm (and the bike does'nt feel stressed at all therefore you sometimes don't know at which point you need to shift) and also i had already popped a big wheelie on the RTR-Fi at the very first drag of the day! so i was letting all the bikes i rode a bit easy only coming off the line, and especially in the R15 because it felt so different that i was constantly afraid that i might do something wrong and end up on my a$$! If only Aparajith, you had been here it would have been different

You guys launch the RTR FI/RTR at 4k eh? Good joke. Its a wheelie bike, but there is a way of taming it too. I would launch at around 8k, thats twice!
Also during shifts, you need to shift gears depending on what that engine needs. Shifting at 8k on an R15 will make it worse hell.
I own the RTR and the R15, they both need different treatments. The vice versa also wont work.
A torquey higher cc bike (with lesser peak bhp and rpm) like the pulsars/karizma will loose a lot when they are revved higher. However you need to shift at a point which is above power peak, but after the shift should not fall back by too much.
If it was the RTR FI and even P220/p200 drag here in bangalore...the results would have been in the reverese order as you guys. Same with the R15.

8k off the line!!!, and no wheelie?? it's no wonder you are reserved special treatement, but we all knew that the R15 was being used at levels wayyyyyy down below it's potential and yesterday there a lot of rider errors too, probably when you come here sometime you can give us a exhaustive tutorial of dragging and riding around the track
