  • 26th Dec Mumbai :The DUREX Jeans Ride for SAFETY, 2010

The DUREX Jeans Ride for SAFETY, 2010, shall take place on Sunday, the 26th dec,20109 MUMBAI. The Rally will be flagged off from Nariman Point and will be a formation convoy upto Bandra Bandstand.

Organized by Mr. Vijay D Jain, who is a prolific biker, an award winning national level motorcycle stunt champion and an active face in the motorsport scenario in India, the Aids Awareness Bike Rally is where concerned motorcycle and car enthusiasts will congregate to contribute to a social cause of a high order. Vijay D Jain has won a number of national level events, and is the founder of WheelieBoy Racing, a young, dynamic and successful racing unit in the country.

Our Cause Ambassador for this event is a lady who cannot be described in words. Deepa Malik, a dynamic lady with waist-below paralysis has voluntarily involved herself in this ride. Deepa Malik, to the unintroduced, is a Limca Record holder and has made invaluable contributions to national motorsport. Deepa Malik has been working hard for the last 10 years for the improvement of facilities for Aids affected children. She had volunteered for the event last year too, With the Aids Awareness Bike Rally, Deepa will come forth to highlight her cause for promotion of disabled motorcycle and car enthusiasts, also supplementing Aids affected people and highlighting automotive safety in the country. It is heartening to see that despite her sever physical disability, she will ride at the forefront, on her specially designed motorcycle through the entire course of the rally.

    The Event :
The DUREX Aids Awareness Bike Rally is expected to host approximately 250 enthusiastic riders from Mumbai and Pune. The riders will represent various motorcycling clubs in both the cities, and will ride in absolute formation at all times. A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

Just dropping a few thoughts of mine...

Why do such awareness happen only in the North? In the last 11-12 months, I think this is the second ride safe campaign carried out in Mumbai by xBhp. Other than this, few private initiative at Lucknow by Pulsater, Shillong by Conrad & TVM by Varun.

No one could deny that Chennai is one of the city with highest two-wheelers in India & I don't need to rant on riding safe which is a national issue now.

My only concern is, why isn't it happening in Chennai? Or forget Chennai for now, what about Bangalore & Hyderabad? Are they on radar at all? Are they likely to happen? Can xBhp make a change?

Forum Leads - Any one reading a simple wish of mine?

Well its sad to know that Bangalore and chennai being bikers hub, there no one who is willing to organize it, but i am not complaining because i know how difficult it is t organize it. One has to slog for permission, and tons of other stuffs.

Hope to see some ride in Bangalore / Chennai soon !

@Wboy - I'm not complaining that "no one" is willing to organize or anything. But I only wish to see few people who get educated or realize. Permissions & other things will become easy when the forum leaders approach city commissioners, so I don't think those will become difficult.

I only wish to see some change before we get to see our children become a victim of incidents!!!

Haha...was expecting this reply. I'm not a good lead or coordinator, but more than good when it comes to doing the actual work & I've been proving & experiencing this for more than decade+ now. Trust me, if I take this up, it will be a major flop

I WILL volunteer & work on this campaign for sure.
