Important notice for Pune riders attending tomorrow's (6th March) Mumbai - Pune Mega G2G ride to Lonavala :

the grouping points are as under

#1 Chandni Chowk - at Cafe Cofee Day gates, 6.00 am. (If you cannot make it on time.. Try reaching early )
People starting from their Hadapsar / Magarpatta / viman-nagar residences should ideally start at least at 5:40.
small briefing about ride rules, inspection of riding gear & papers.

If you are reaching Chandni Chowk after 6:20, dont bother to wait, just give me / Rockrz a call on my cell(no. mentioned below), follow the route as shown in the attached map and join us on the ride.

meeting point #2 hinjewadi flyover, (labeled on the map as point 2)

meeting point #3 dehu road toll naka, labeled as point 3. MG will meet us here and give another briefing to all the riders regarding the rest of the ride.

Try to arrive early (for newbies) at your grouping point. Since many people will be coming from Chandni chowk, we will not be very difficult to spot from a distance in the sparse morning traffic. If your call is not answered, head to the last grouping point i.e. Dehu Road. We should try and not stop very much en route to Dehu road so, the correct way to join in would be to start your engines when you see the convoy approaching and then seamlessly join in at the back of the pack (just ahead of the rider tailing the group) so as to not delay the entire group. (This part is only an experiment even though I think we will in fact 'stop' at every grouping point.)

For people waiting at grouping point #2 and #3, historically, we get around 15 minutes late while leaving from Chandni Chowk. So, if we are a bit late, please give us a call before freaking out and leaving in some other direction altogether.

Hey, I am from Pune and wish to attend the Meet tomorrow.
This will be my first ride with you guys, and in fact, the first group ride. But, I don't have the riding gears required, except a jacket and a helmet. could anyone please help me out?

A humble reminder to all those who are attending tomorrow's EPIC G2G !

Please make sure you wear the following Safety Riding Gears and carry all the listed Bike Documents with you for this ride. Those who do not have the gears can put a request on respective (Mumbai or Pune) thread for the same so that those who are not riding can lend their gears to you.

=> Safety Riding Gear
a. Full Face Helmet: Has to be in good condition and preferably ISI/DOT certified
b. Thick Jacket/Riding Jacket: Must have inbuilt armour or external elbow guards are also allowed
c. Gloves: Must cover vital points like knuckles and wrist. Cut/half gloves not allowed
d. Knee Guards: Either bionic or regular flex type.
e. Riding Boots/Sports Shoes/Army Boots: Anything that covers the foot well.

=> Bike Documents
a. Valid Driving License: MUST have and carry at all times
b. Bike Registration Papers: Original or Attested Photocopy
c. Bike Tax Certificate: Original or Attested Photocopy
d. Bike Insurance: Preferably a comprehensive insurance, personal insurance would be a plus.
e. PUC Certificate: A valid PUC certificate
f. His\her info in the ICE sheet is updated

=> Rules
1. No Stunting or Over-speeding.
2. Observe Group Riding & Lane Discipline which would be briefed at the starting of the ride.
3. Get your bike thoroughly checked a day before the ride. Get necessary repairs done to make it ride worthy.
4. Get your petrol tanks filled up a day before the ride. Always tour with adequate petrol reserve.
5. Carry enough cash to tackle emergency situations.
6. Update the respective ICE sheets with your and emergency contact details.

I won't be coming all the way to lonavla, some last minute family commitments, so is it OK if come with jacket, gloves and helmet, till panvel ?

But then we wont be actually stopping at panvel for that long ... are you sure you want to ride all the way to panvel just to say "Hi" and leave ?
