The year 2011 started with a bang for us, the kerala xbhpians, with an all kerala g2g to munnar in January and the next thing in our agenda was a Road safety campaign in February as the first anniversary of our first Helmet Awareness campaign which happened on feb 13^th 2010. . We were all pondering our heads into for ideas for making this event with a difference and wanted to make it noticed, especially with the common man in a BIG manner. Each and every one of us worked alike for making that possible with roaring success, though the scale of the event we hoped for was a bit bigger. For that we even postponed the event from feb 13^th to 27^th for buying time for everyone to finish their roles without any flaws. Days passed by and the frequent meets ups became conference calls every now and then , finally the arena was set and the show was about to begin. Now I believe that we were able to move a few souls with all those videos and pictures we showed along with speeches and presentations at the venue, shanghumugham beach in Trivandrum. I would be grateful to you all if some lives are saved because of our gesture. I thank xbhp for creating such a wonderful brotherhood with like minded passionate guys and some friends for a lifetime!


Thus came the D day , 27^th, and the tees were brought from tirupur by Rupesh in the morning , the placards were all ready and set with remy, and we reached the Kowdiar palace on time with everything and set the stage for the flag off !! It was nice to see Jayamohan bro coming with his son who was also wearing a small full face lid! Sreenath came with his wife for the campaign, but alas he was in the back up car instead of his bull , I was thinking of making him the model of the event with his A Stars :P . To give her company, Varun (toonz) also came with his wife. Time was flying and I was calling up all those who have given their names for the campaign and was shocked to see how many were backing out in the last moment owing to various reasons including the WC match of india !! Anyways, the Prince Adithya Varma was on time, roaring past us in his beautiful orange beetle and Dr.Shiju Stanley followed him along with his family for the event. Shortly after CI Mr Ragesh Kumar arrived, the official flag off happened at 3:30 PM in Front of the palace with a small speech by Prince, Doctor, our Sponsor and Lijo. The doc was so enthusiastic about the day that he was all praise for the campaign and even came with his whole family for the flag off at the palace and also to the beach for the function.

After a short photo shoot session, we all left the premises barging into the city with police escorts in the lead and tail. Everyone was having a set of Pamphlets for distribution and they were being done in a very systematic manner at all the 4 vantage points inside the city. The police were also helping us by stopping the motorcyclists without wearing helmet and giving this pamphlet. It was a funny scene to watch some people turning back in fear, seeing the police stopping them :P . Thanks to Lijo for making the detailed route map and police for rerouting and making other traffic arrangements for our convenience.

After the first pit stop, rupesh and I fled to the arena where the final showdown was about to happen for stage and all other arrangements and was waiting there for more than an hour. Then there came in Arun with the 108 ambulance and technicians . Then came the police with their mobile electronic traffic park bus and parked them both side by side. By then, it was attracting a good crowd to see what is gonna happen in the next few moments. Now I could see all eyes going towards the bright lights at the farther end of the long road in front of the beach. We got ready with the cam to click some pics .
