cont....
The arena was all set and the guys arrived in a beautiful formation parking all the 25 bikes at the periphery of the beach and road. By that time, the 108 ambulance and the mobile electronic traffic park were also parked side by side , with more and more eyes popping out to see what weird is going to happen here.
For those who dont know what 108 is:- its an ambulance service started by the govt recently which has all sophisticated life saving measures and a couple of technicians inside it. Its now a common thing on the roads here every hour to see them ripping apart the roads and flying carrying the accident victims. Til that is launched, we had no idea of the numbers of the accidents happening near us, but now we are alarmed to see the frequency with which they are shuttling thorough the city and narrow highways of kerala. The technicians inside it will take care of all the first aid needed in case of an emergency and even take tests like ecg and everything before reaching the hospital itself, so that it becomes easy for the doc in the hospital to treat him immediately without any delay for these tests at this critical time. Nobody other than those who have made use of this facility knew what was inside it and whats happening inside until the evening when they opened it up for us to see and explained everything to us in detail. Thanks to shakir, the technician with the 180 and vaishak, who was the head of the team and @aarun, who took the pain to contact and bring them for the event. Finally after their presentation and talk, they came to us and told that they are ever willing and happy to conduct more such presentations and make the public aware of the service that they are doing and thanks for making use of their facilities.
some pics of the same..

The moment of the day arrived when the screen was lit up with the xbhp logo when the sun hid it behind the waters and the darkness popped out to grace the occasion . Thanks to sunny for a small presentation that sent us for the event .We started by displaying that first on what xbhp means and then a small collection of the best pics of the group rides that we ve been to, over the last couple of years. By the, the police CI, the DOC , and everyone were greeted at the podium with a warm welcome speech by remy and lijo on what xbhp means to us.
remy on the stage..

lijo..

It was the turn of the polize now to have a neat presentation on the facts and figures of the alarming rate of accidents happening in this small state of kerala with the max vehicle density per sq km. He was thoroughly impressed with our actions in promoting the noble cause of safe riding at this age when the rash riding of college goers is a menace in the city . He even mentioned that he had left riding long back as it was considered a dangerous activity and went to Driving, now even he is considering going back to his riding days with xbhpians as the usage of all these riding gears makes it safer than ever before. When i joined xbhp a couple of years back, i was the first one from my college and started to preach safe riding with many of my friends at college and outside, eventually about 5-6 guys happened to join xbhp from my college alone and helping the biking community to make our roads safer by following all the rules of the land. Many of my friends who never bothers to wear a helmet and made fun of me that i bought a helmet worth 3k have now bought the same good quality helmets, some after seeing our lids and safety gears and some after learning from their own accidents. Whether they wear it for safety or for poser value, i m happy that we have made atleast such a small impact on the society towards making them value their own life.

to be continued ....shall complete the rest today itselfMy New Blog : http://ridesaferidelong.blogspot.com/
