We are doing a food walk on Sunday we can meet, have breakfast and can have a look around in the by-lanes of the Pink City.

Hello to the Rajasthan chapter.

I shall be riding from Ahmedabad to Sri Ganganagar from 21 Jan onwards. 21st will be a halt in Jodhpur, 22nd in Suratgarh and 23rd at destination.

I will be most grateful for an update about the roads and weather prevalent at this time of the year. Also, anybody joining me for the ride is most welcome.

What route are you taking from Ahemadabad to Jodhpur? The roads Jodhpur onwards are super smooth and you will not have any problems.
The weather now is really chilly, make sure you have enough layers to keep you warm. Let us know if you have any plans to visit Jaipur.

I shall be riding thus: Ahd - Mehsana - Palanpur - Abu Road - Sirohi - Pali - Jodhpur - Bikaner - Suratgarh - SGNR.

I was posted in Suratgarh for 3 years so am aware of the climate. It is only the foggy mornings which will cause delays and/or late starts. The tentative itinerary is thus:
20 Jan - arr Ahd, bike prep
21 Jan - Jodhpur
22 Jan - SGNR else Suratgarh and SGNR on 23 Jan.
Bike is candy red CBR 250 MH12 GZ 7352

Jaipur gets left to the East so, no joy.

The roads from Aburoad to Pali is under construction and in a very bad shape. Other than that you are good. I hope you are aware that you will be crossing the famous 'Bullet Baba or Om Banna temple' enroute. Do check it out if you haven't yet.

I'll not be able to help on much, but i can tell you roads from falna to nagaur are nothing to boast of, i did this stretch a while ago, there are patches of good roads, not so good roads and bad roads. I'll suggest you avoid driving at night because the road sometimes turn unpredictable. I've had my share of close shave on the same. From jodhpur to nagaur the road is very good with some bad patches.

Wish i could meet you but I'll be leaving jodhpur on 18th but i can arrange help if needed in and around jodhpur within a 30 km radius.
