Had a bad, almost terrifying experience with the cops today. Got pulled over by SI S.Janardhanan and team at Kaudiar square at 12:14AM. As soon as I stopped the bike he started saying 1000rs 1000rs. Then someone switched on the light, said his eyes got 'fused'. Second offense 'mercury lamp'. Then they saw the damn headphone. Then they checked licence and other documents. I plead guilty, but stood my ground. Then what happened is, some 4 police who were standing on the other side joined, few second later a motorcycle patrol stopped and they too joined. They literally had me rounded and each one discussing my offenses with each other. The SI was blabbering about some imaginary scenarios of me going to some minister, he asking him the offense, he quoting the rules, minister agreeing... Finally he said give 1000 and go. I said ok, give me a receipt. Then he told his assistant to write out a receipt for all things, amounting to 2500 - which as per all of them, i have to pay on the spot, threat of impounding the bike (after which sunlight will not fall on it). Fortunately or unfortunately I had 2 500rs notes, I gave it to him. As i fired the engine and started moving, I head one of them saying 'illegal exhaust'... i just continued moving...
I know i'm in the wrong, but this approach has me shaken. I'm numb... dont know what to feel also... hmmm

I dont know bro... thinking back guess I resigned to fate (of losing 1000 bucks) as soon as I saw his attitude.Originally posted by xionite View Postwow! firstly... they CANNOT fine you for multiple offenses.
i don't know the scene down south... but this kind of behaviour won't work here.
it's sad it happened to you tho. 1000 rupees in fines?
what was ur list of offenses?

My 'crimes' were 'mercury light', 'over speed' and 'listening to music'.... hmmm
All because I was in the wrong side of the law right? Well, I'm going to set it right. I have a draft plan in mind.
BTW, its new to me that they cannot fine you for multiple offenses... just for info sake, what is the procedure if you are in violation of multiple 'rules' ??

These 'watever'holesOriginally posted by tintumat View Post@lijo: That is really sad man, these assholes need to taught a good lesson, Try and see if you can get hold of them. Next time try to carry a spy cam or something.
should be detained from service. Any way for that?
@lijo - What does the reciept say? is it proper or just hand written? Personally i suggest you to write a letter to metro manorama. They're doing a very good job on bringing out such incidents to light.Try it, you won't regret

WTH!!!This is total misuse of power and authority! We should definitely do something about this!Things with the Flying Squad are getting way out of control!Harassing and blackmailing us into giving them money in order to avoid an impound!I strongly say we catch them in the act somehow!
We should indeed get a spycam and catch them red handed!Enough is enough!

Your offenses are Mercury light,Over speed,Music head phone while driving, and joel exhaust note???. Do a self analysis where you are wrong and right..correct it as per traffic rules. Don't expect good manners from every policeman.Lots of Kuttan pillai, Idiyan Labodaran pillai and head constable coverted as SI Janardhanan are still here in Kerala police
.Their only aim is to collect the target money for the month
. Hmm..We should write some article about Police attitude in all the dailies. The kerala DGP already made a Govt circular that the Police should check the car and bike with pleasing manner and don't treat the owners as criminals. We have to draft a complaint to chief minister and Transport minister about this attitude.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the seat.

Unfortunate bro! 1000rs was too much! I remember the first day on my 220, I got pulled down by police at Kesavadasapuram for using 'illegal' lights. :-| They didn't believe it's stock and were about to charge me.
The *mercury lights*!!! Let's see what we can do against them. Keep your receipt safe!=============================
