Organising a safety cum traffic awareness presentation with a small ride at a nice centre of the city. The presentation must be in detail mainly covering the Problems regarding the state of trivandrum happenings and road rage etc etc It's a suggestion . I mean it should be more comprehensive putting more stress on the tragedies occurring repeatedly and the reasons behind it. This would only be successful if a large mass of people attend it. So some promotions needs to be made before the actual event occurs.

Thts good.. Fix a date in such a way that we have 3 months time in advance.


Sort things what all have to be done & to what extend.

Fix the amount that you for see for the event.

I say this should be a grand event which should Awaken the whole of TVM. And this time Media support should be availed the Maximum.

Guys,I took myself off the list!Exams on Nov 1st and 4th.I have exams till 28th Nov!So sorry,I was really hoping to ride to Blore and party hard!Well I guess it will have to wait!

Nowadays press people are all full of words about "195" traffic cams gonna change the situation here in Trivandrum. I highly doubt it since even where cams are people are still flying by and hearing not much activity from Law enforcers. All I came to know was that there is a control room where "3" civil police officers will monitor these cams all time.. 3 officers for 195 cams??
I don't know where the ratio balances. Still I think if citizens(atleast xbhpians) of this city could negotiate with Traffic Police Dept to make such an arrangement that:
If we spot any person not abiding to safe riding or driving pattern and possibly could harm himself or someone else; we could take pics using mobile/cams as proof(with date and time) and share it with enforcers who could decide to deduce the penalty fee from them or warn them.
I'm not sure if any such arrangement is existing now, if already there or implemented need to find out how we can contribute.
Because in my personal opinion this motivation, banners, seminar etc won't do effect until unless these people are made aware somebody got eyes upon them.

Because in my personal opinion this motivation, banners, seminar etc won't do effect until unless these people are made aware somebody got eyes upon them.

True, motivations, banners and seminars will only serve as awareness catalyst for the public. However, like you suggested if they get a feeling that somebody is watching them drive/ride wrong then it will be more effective. But how?!

i have a suggestion, don't know if its good
just record it on a cam i mean the use of phone while driving parking in no parking overtaking from the left over croweded bus auto etc etc etc and during the event it just project it on a screen or wall with the theme we have eyes on you if the video is superb then it will have an effect

By all means, record such offenses - but dont be stupid and record it while you yourself is driving (like I tried to do once ). We dont know when it will come useful...

Safety begins at home

Hate to say this but aren't we being a bit hypocritical here, includes me also. In the recent times I have seen our own guys practising and supporting unsafe practices. I started noticing this from last helmet and road safety awareness campaign but refrained from commenting.

Chennai pela got a FB page, where anyone can upload violator snaps and action will be taken in no time (they say so). Hope we can negotiate for something like that. Social networking used at its best
