I think sirac (if available) is a better option.
Have a couple of sirac using KL xbhpians here I think. Also for more info you could check out the tyre thread in xbhp itself.

Don't bother with riding boots. Get a pair of gum boots from srinagar/Manali, dispose after the ride. In August no real need of riding pants either, just wear multiple layers of thin thermals. Jockey has good collection
