  • Yup!! Even I was waiting for a update!!
Anyways I guess LP clicked some pics from the G2G probable from Addie camera. Some of the pics were of the beauty 636. Would like if either LP or Addie post them. I guess its really been long since people have posted pics from the Delhi G2G. It was nice to have a large gathering. OF sir, Imran Bhai, Arjun Bhai, Shivanshu bhai, MJ and most of the regulars were there. OF sir had some valuable word on Engine Thermal Stabilization to share. It sure is always a pleasure to gather knowledge from him. Thank You Sir.

All in all a nice G2G. The weather is getting favourable and hence the rides are more pleasure these days.

    Ride Safe!!

    • Meet reports and updates are becoming rarer, probably due to a lack of pictures on the thread. Aryan used to be the initiative taker with this and I sure am missing him.

It was good to catch up with so many of the Delhi members yesterday. I trundled in rather late and in Imran's car as my bike had a flat rear. Some new faces but the majority were familiar ones. Kurtrules was his usual laconic self and had come astride his signature CBZ-X. Good to have him in town. Manan made a late entry, even later than me but his gregariousness makes all his faults forgivable. Shivanshu was around too with his regular baritone voice and easy laugh. He has an excellently maintained RX100 that somehow suits him a lot more than his R15. Sherry 'the gentleman' was also around though I didn't get to see his signature Unicorn. Arjun made his characteristic entry on a screaming n wailing n glaring ZX 6R. This is one rider who seems comfortable on any and every bike he rests his rear-end on. Nitin LP surfaced after quite a long gap. He is the quintessential 'human virus' , someone who has a knack of living on the borderline between mischief and civility. Good to have him back during the meet. Amber aka DD was around on his P220 and missing the usual breakfast as the 'dhaba which was closed for the day. Kunjal rode in on his 'CBZ Classic with a thousand faces - special edition'. Addy was around with his sixth sense - his camera. No pics of the meet on the forum means they are buried under some pretty faces he probably clicked later in the evening . Was good to see Aseem too though he stayed a short while. I think he's only this guy who beats me and Manan in distance traveled to the meet. Sohna to Dhaba is cross-country - well almost! Was nice to catch up with Rachit too. Manish was our appetizer with his ready and witty one-liners. Of course I am yet to see him ride over in shoes instead of his regular sandals. Maybe winters will make a difference . Great company, good food, lots of time and favourable weather make for a wonderful few hours.

I sounded out a few of the people gathered about having a Technical/Riding skills workshop in the near future and there seemed to be a general 'yes' to it. Rather than I coming up with a list of topics to work on, why don't you people come up with your suggestions. We can discuss anything under the sun about motorcycling so bring up some ideas.

        • My first experience at g2g

So finally made my g2g debut this sunday...(I was one of the "new faces" guys mentioned about)... as expected first few minutes were like my first day in college having no familiar face to turn up to and say "Hi..kya haal hai bhai" still knowing that it is just the matter of time....and I have already skipped many Sunday's in this apprehension.... So there I landed on my blue 220 and saw 10-15 guys were already busy in their conversations.... turned towards the guys sitting on chairs and looking at me invitingly... introduced myself and dragged a chair to make myself comfortable..and got to know that I'm not the only newbie, Avinash "night_rider" too was there for the first time (felt at ease to know that) with his Ninja (surprisingly in black which looked better than in green to me)... while Rahul was sharing insights of Bajaj's strategy.. to which I thought he works for Bajaj and let me pour out all my bad experiences with their service centers so he can put them across
but later got to know he was chosen in a competition to visit Bajaj's manufacturing unit... later heard a humming sound coming from way far and getting louder by the second....stood up and saw one of my favorite bikes Kawasaki ZX6R approaching... did I say it looked sexy.... then 6-7 of us headed towards Gurudwara Bangla Sahib.... and thereafter went to McD at CP.... after a quick break we were back on roads....which are pleasure to ride on nowdays after CWG... but me and another guy on FZ (sorry didn't get your name) stuck at a traffic signal while we saw everyone else zoom ahead towards the dhaba... so both of us decided to take another route and reach our destination but on the way I decided to go home and bid adieu to a great sunday morning....

looking forward to meet you all again.....

          • I've not been coming online too much hence couldn't post my take on yesterday's take. Well it was a nice sunday morning with perfect weather and i enjoyed my 30 kms ride to the dhaba a lot. When I reached the dhaba many members were already there. I didn't recognise some so made acquintances with them. After talking for a while, we heard something big was approaching us, the ninja 636 was awesome to hear and gave us single cylinder guys quite an inferiority complex. After a while the dhaba guys announced that it'll be closed hence we headed towards another dhaba thats close by to fill up our tummies. Had a few paranthas and pepsi and headed back home. Overall a very nice g2g.

@ shivanshu bhai : thanks for the advice. I'm gonna follow it to the best of my ability.

Sir, I'd love a d.i.y. Workshop g2g as i love to get my hands dirty which can be very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. I've learnt this the hard way by seriously injuring my thumb while lubing my bike's chain. Hence I'm looking for any and all guidance in this area. I think many members will be benefitted from such a g2g.

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Very true Sir, I think its time when individuals should be able to plan up a objective - oriented G2Gs. Take permission from the Moderators and implement it.

My apologise brother!! I have to admit that in recent past you have been the most regular guy to the G2Gs and it was always a pleasure speaking to you.

As for the Technical/Riding skill workshop, I am really looking forward to them. Just a small suggestion. For Riding Skills probably Dhaba is not the right place. We can either go to the Off Roading grounds or any other place where we can experiment and learn freely.

                        • This evening I had been to the dhaba after a very long time (my work schedule is such that it hardly gives me any time to go to the dhaba, et al). There were a few xBhpians sitting there, and the way they exited the dhaba made me wonder if we even care to follow any 'rule' when we are NOT in an G2G or such.

One rider sat pillion with his buddy on the Pulsar with the lid precariously hanging on one hnd, and a cigarette on the other. It seemed he couldn't care less about his safety, while the other was sitting almost at the pillion seat of the Honda scooter and riding it! Meanwhile, the third rider was somehow left behind and he accelerated like crazy to catch up with his two other buddies!

I had always wondered do people (we, xBhpians) even care about our OWN safety outside the G2G scenario. And I have very well received my answer today, which, ofcourse is a HUGE "NO". These were all new faces to me, I couldn't recognize any one of them, but I do now know their xBhp IDs. I would prefer not taking out names here openly, but I am sure if you guys are reading this, then, you very well know that yes, I am talking about YOU!

Please take care of your safety, and ride safe with proper riding gear. The helmet is NOT meant to grace the hand, rather, it WILL save your life one day, trust me on that. Cigarette CAN wait, but your life won't when you have a crash!
                          :)

I totally agree with your observation,
Yesterday Only I was driving down with my friend in my car and a guy was about to hit me and suddenly applied my brakes,I stopped my car and had a word with him about why he was not wearing his helmet and he said"apko kya problem apna kaam karro"
Without helmet riding is a strict no-no.
In 2003, I had a major accident and my helmet saved the day..
I request all fellow riders to wear your helmets properly and encourage people around to do the same..
At last I would like to request Mod's to organize a Safe Riding G2G just like we had in Kerala and Shillong and emphasize the importance of riding safe all the time.

I was the one on Honda Eterno, I had hurt my knee the other day and I couldn't ride my bike thats why I was riding the scooter and sitting a bit behind the seat.. I talked to the guys and made them read the post who were smoking and riding without lids and they've realised their mistakes and would surely not do anything insane like this in the future. Thanks a lot for correcting our mistakes.
