How is last year rains during September ?? , as Kerala inherits heavy rains during monsoon as per my knowledge Agust-Septermber will be peak right ??
i think October-November is least , or any other insight on rains ??
it has already started raining here... will be worse in september. so maybe oct-nov can be good. rains are bad for group rides na??

The point of ISG2G is to ride with friends, meet with fellow brothers from other states, hang out, share stories and ride back.

Destination is important in that, it should not be too crowded, weather should be pleasant, accommodating large group of people + bikes (parking space) should be possible, and the distance for one of the states should not be so much that by the time the group reaches the hotel every one is dog tired.

Yes seasoned riders can ride 1000+ kms in a day on small capacity bikes. But riding 700 kms alone (or 2-3 riders) and riding 700 kms with a group are two very very different things.

So I am a bit disappointed that Varkala was not included - but the reasons are good. And Kuttikkanam is looking beautiful on google images. So I am pretty excited...!!

Personally I am good with any and every decision Phanikar of Praful make - distance, destination, accommodation whatever. And Kochu - that design is awesome, definitely buying the T shirt even if for some reason I cant make it to the G2G :P
Hey mate, great to see you here. Let's hope we get to meet this time. Last time was a close call..!!

    Cheers

It takes tine vishnu, poll for location is set up by praful , you can vote there and lets wait for the polling date to close.

And the way of solving a issue is to talk abt it and find a solution , if everyone just keeps quite and sit in a corner nothing will materialize.

    Praful ji,
Nobody is implying that there is a dictatorship. Location almost wherever in kerala im fine with it,no matter the distance. For me its all about meeting you guys from the other states.

But the simple thing is when the newly active members see something being decided and posted by the core team which just held default positions since the last few times(i am ok with it, the isg2g's have always been grand success under their expertise) naturally some of the newer members will feel they were left out from the planning or decesion making part.
Now lets leave that, even about other matters like the districtwise coordinaters , the members were just given the final answer, no discussion were there or soft anouncements were made, either online or offline to the host team, so again some feel bad that they are just being given orders and the they feel being left out, even though they have been quite active in organizing and executing local g2g or events. The co-ordinators need to have a more indepth contact with the people for whom you guys are working so hard arranging a meet, but instead no kind of talks are being conducted either in offline threads or in facebook or pm, so naturally they feel left out.

And eventhough going to every single guy and informing is not possible in such a large scale event and is definetly not the way. The decesions made must be first informed at a lower scale like the individual state threads or a fb group which is there for almost every state and discussed upon before being stated as the final decesion.

Just these small small details tends to blow up ego in the minds of many. So why not try to work out and maintin this unwanted stupid ego to the bare minimum ? A good communication network is the only way out of this.

And let me add in particular, i have no problems with kochumvk, swas or celebrity or any organisers from the neighbouring state brothers. And i have no problems with the decesions they take together. But i am just one person , other peoples needs/opinions are to be addressed , hence this post. Please no one take it in a negetive way.

    Cheers

I have been on a Bangalore-Varkala trip and keep visiting wayanad often, Munnar has been more in cars though. My suggestion would be to have Varkala open as an option, reason -

a>The road is butter-smooth for 85% of the journey
b> Bangalore guys (including me) went to the Valneshwar ISG2G a while ago, the distance was similar and we encountered one the worst patches of Ghat roads on the way. We are alive and rocking for more !! !
c> We had bikes ranging from 500cc to 100 cc too.
d> Last point, each one of us has a lot of good memories from the trip despite the distance and conditions.

The weather too is much better right now, the distance is not impossible and hence keep it open as an option. Let's not vote-out a destination without even giving it a chance.

By the Way, my vote is neither for Wayanad nor for Varkala and Munnar. I am looking forward to some new destination

shashank, thats great too know from you. Organizers even the Bangalore guys don't have problem with varkala. Then why are you still not insisting to put Varkala on poll list??
btw, Shashank why did you delete your post? its was a good one.

We are xBhpians, but what is the point of having a meeting when 66% of the participating crowd will have to have 15-18 hr two day rides for 1 day for a meet ?

Like I said before, I'm not saying its impossible just don't see the point of riding with 30-40 folks for 700 Kms to reach the destination tired. Don't believe me, ask the KL xBhpians who came for the Yercaud meet in 2010...

But there is a way, if the Bangalore & Chennai xBhpians agree that they don't mind riding 15-18hrs for two out of the 3 days OR they don't mind taking two extra days and break the journey into two days to reach Varkala, I am nobody to stop them.

By all means let me know, I'll update the options in the poll. This is not a dictatorship, so please stop talking as if it is one.
Human error and pardon accepted. Please discuss with Bangalore xBhpians from your side and get on the head-count who are ready to ride 700kms and who are ready to ride only 500kms first. Sriram and Karthik, please do the same with Chennai as well so that we can fix on the place for the event.

From what I understood seeing the poll yesterday and today morning before changes were made is there will be more participates from the host state if the event is conducted at 'Varkala'. I believe that is what is excepted as well, more participates from the host state. The same reason why lesser number of KL participants are there for ISG2Gs when compared to the number of actually active members in KL regardless of the regulars from KL.

I know, I'm not there in the organizing committee but I had to suggest the above over the planning flaws and mess-up happening since yesterday in the second thread too for this event. I request, the committee to execute things peacefully atleast going forward and make the event a grand success.

Don't take this as a dictatorship from my side. I am only backing my brothers from KL which is the jest thing to do, to stand United as Brothers in an event of crisis.

That's great news, so it's a doable distance for Bangalore xBhpians unlike quoted earlier here. Organizing committee, do consider in adding 'Varkala' back to the poll list.

I am really sorry for this mishandling Praful.
I can clearly understand what you are saying. We will sort this out. We have many locations in Kerala, not just Varkala. and Hosts will understand that.
    Allow some time.
