A big hello to all fellow pune bikers!!! I have been looking for a serious bike group from pune since very long. Alas my search has ended ( only after my membership here was approved). Looking forward to some bike to bike ( like heart to heart ) talks with senior and experienced members. Hope to get to know you guys more....

They are not. Except one or two which are totally useless apart from the rains.

Most people use an X(X)L size raincoat and wear it over the jacket.

A decent 2-piece Duckback raincoat costs Rs. 700 ish.

The so called "water proof" linings are useless then?
I recently bought a DGS Nero jacket hoping that it would give decent projection from the water during the monsoon rides as well.

And are they any ideas to save your shoes from getting water into them? or do we just have to learn to live with that? Many times the shoes start slipping over foot pegs, causing big problems. Hoping experienced rain riders can throw some light on this.

for the shoe part you can use some industrial safety shoes during the rain... they have anti slip grips along with a steel toe and if you the ones which are till the shin you will get waterproofing as well....

Lets hope the jacket does what you bought it for. If not, Rs.700 is not a *very big* financial hit. And as it is, you would need rain-pants anyways if you are planning on doing any medium/long distances in the rain. The Jacket won't save your undies from getting wet.

It actually depends on the rain I feel. for some rides the Nero will suffice, while for others nothing will.

What we did was use polythene bags under/over our socks, that atleast kept our legs a bit less let.

Hi guys,

i hv never been very active on the forum though hv been reading thru these forums for all kind of info on bikes, riding gears etc.

i hv shifted to Daman recently and was thinking of riding my bike (P150) from Pune to Daman this wednesday (13-6-12). I hvnt toured a lot.. actually hvnt toured at all apart from few rides to Ranjangaon/Chakan for work. so this wud b my 1st long ride and that too on my own. I am aware of what route i should b takin (though i hv never actually gone past Talegaon on the old NH4) but wud b gr8 if any of u cud give me tips for the ride.

Wud b awesome if anyone intends to come along - if nt till Daman, maybe till lonavala/mumbai.
