Guys.. if we plan to come early ..we must go early... I suggest we shud leave at 6am..we make the gathering time at 5.30am.coz there willl always be some later risers..we will have 30 mins in hand to wait for them.... only then will we able to come back before 5pm. Got this Train constraint... 5.45pm

Btw... I had to hunt for quite some time to come to this info... can we make something where such a post is at the top of the thread or something like that? Something easier to find? Mods?

@samudran-Since a new thread was not created hence you didn't see any information in the first post.Whenever a new thread is created all the details are given in the first post itself.

Btw welcome to Pune xBhp group.Please make sure that you have a good ISI marked helmet & you are carrying all the bike papers. Also make sure that you are wearing proper shoes and not in half sleeves..If you have a riding gear than nothing like it.

Is it neccessary to mention "Helmet with Visor"..!

Ofcourse, its needed...and there's plenty of time still for sunday to come..you can easily acquire the visor..its readily available..!!

@dk-When you say Lonavla depot does it mean the ST bus stand?It it's the ST bus stand that you are referring then I guess I know that turn.Also can we take our bike to both the forts & the lake there or some kind of trekking is required?Can you post some more details about the places?

I didn't like that attitude(The part in bold).Ofcourse you need a visor & original bike papers & original license.Btw which helmet do you have?

@dk-While going from Pune to Mumbai from where we have to take a right turn towards Rajmachi?I have tried looking for it in all my Mumbai trips till date but still couldn't figure the one for Rajmachi.

The deviation is on the stretch between Khandala and Lonavala (the twisty winding stretch of a few kms, some where midway between Lonavala and Khandala). If you came from Khandala towards Lonavala, this road will be a deviation to the left. You'll see a very small road forking left and going down (and the highway goes up). On the other side of the road (where this deviation begins) is a Tea shop. There are lots of boards near that road (but I don't think it reads Rajmachi anywhere). Follow that deviation all the way. If you come from Pune side, this road might be a little hard to spot, so look out for a tea stall on the left. If you find one, ask him or look at the opposite side of the road.

You can take bikes upto the base of the fort (many kms in)..

Follow the road and have fun ..

What exactly is there apart from ruins?
Do you get Rajma-chawal there?

Now your description doesn't match with the one what DK has proposed.Let me try to figure out.
When we are going from Lonavla to Khandala we go under the flyover(Expressway) and then take the left turn for Khandala and the twisties start.There is one point(A right hander) from where expressway is visible and I have seen many people stopping there for pictures & chai-pakora.Is the turn somewhere close to this point?

It seems there are two exits near Lonavala to reach Rajmachi.

1) Proposed by DK,(DK plz correct me if this is not the one u told)




2) Proposed by hydroxide(confirmation needed from hydroxide):



Both these exits are 2.5 kms apart and Rajmachi is at the mid of these two some 15-20 kms from highway.

we need to findout which route offers more adventure
