Pulsars on the track.
I notice the general consensus is that the pulsar is not good on the track.
While that is true I'm sure most pulsar owners [me included] never thought they were gonna ride their bikes on the race track. Also I'm sure most are not in a position to just buy a new bike.
So instead of only discussing how bad this bike is, why not discuss ways to improve your times on these bikes. Discuss tyres, what can be done to the suspension, how to better your lines. I'm sure you still will be slower than an R15 but shaving off a second on your Lap times should be gratifying enough.
PS. Thanks to all the photographers who clicked and uploaded pics of me on my 200.

Well, the point is that for a bike sold at 90k its expected to handle in any case. Even the karizma was not meant to be ridden on the track, but it does its job well above the pulsar 220.Originally posted by voodoo_god13 View PostI notice the general consensus is that the pulsar is not good on the track.

When bajaj is positioning its bikes with the"pro-biking" tag and trying to showcase it as a premium performance product, doest handling matter at all? You sure had the money to buy a better bike and the pulsar aint any cheap. Its quite expensive, be it the 150 or the 220.
A Unicorn which is a bland commuter handles way above the Pulsars.
After I rode the p220, I suggested samyaza that the air pressure be lowered and it did make a slight difference in handling. All said, even with better tyres and a few tweeks you cant make a donkey perform like a horse. A horse is a horse. Period.
Of course we can improve riding by discussing techniques, however you need to do all this on a good handling bike. A few here believe that learning on a bad/tough handling bike will make you a better rider on a good handling bike. I dont agree. Killer has given the explanation.
I remember from my childhood days, some elders would say that if you learnt to drive in an ambassador you can master any thing on 4 wheels. I can only laugh at them now. I'm sure schumacher has not even tasted an ambassador to become a world champion.

I definately not saying riding an inferior bike is gonna help when I upgrade to a new bike.Originally posted by Joel View PostWell, the point is that for a bike sold at 90k its expected to handle in any case. All I'm saying is most pulsar owners cant afford to buy a new bike at this point. So ur still stuck with a 'Donkey'. So instead of saying "Donkey this is all you can do, stay off the track" just try to make donkey faster, untill u buy a horse.
Also I ride a 200. The 220 was outta reach with my salary at that point. The R15 was not released. 72K for a P200 seemed to be a good deal for a guy wanting city riding and touring.

thanks everybody, i too learned a lot about photography that day
, how auto focus can ruin a moment. and also the corners where crash happens often, C7? or C8.As a first timer, information is wealth. when I hit the track, I will be watching out.

Just FYI, International bike racing will finally be coming to our country with the 4th round FIM asian championship happening in Sep this year at Chennai. More info here: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorspo...d-chennai.html
You guys should come watch and see actual world class pro's in action. The top 5 riders in the 600CC class actually lap our most experienced asian gp rider Dilip Rogger in the races, so you can imagine how fast they are. Some of the top japanese riders who take part in the 600cc class are competitive racers at the world level (suzuka 8 hour race etc). Expect to see some track records being broken, it will be a treat to watch. They will be working on improving track safety too to conform to FIM specifications. Finally we're moving in the right direction.Last edited by Killer; 02-24-2009, 11:36 PM.
