I will try my best to answer all your queries but if i come up short, then please forgive me. All the other xBhpians who are experienced in this are most welcome to help me and others out on this.
@ Darknight : Call me up so we can discuss all the details
@ me is rossi : that would be great and further your image of a passionate biker
btw congrats in conquering your ahemdabad trip.
@ razorblades : You should give it a try and if you need anything please feel free to ask everyone here.
All you need is a racing license from FMSCI which is the governing racing authority in India. This license can be easily obtained by just filling up a form and dont worry, you wont have to take any test of any sort. Dont get confused over simple matters dude. The form for racing license will be available with the guys organising the Speed Run. All you have to do is fill it up and submit it to them and they will take care of the rest. The fees for racing license is between Rs 100-200 for one event. This means that your racing license will be valid only for the Speed Run and no other event. If you want a yearly license which enables you to take part in any 2 wheeler racing event, the fees is Rs. 1000, but you wont require that if you only wish to take part in Speed Run.
The entry fees for a single category run for 2 wheelers was Rs. 1000 last year and repeat run was Rs 500. This year fees has not been confirmed as of now but i expect it to boe more or less the same. There are no pre-requisites to participate in this drag race.
Anyone else wishing to participate please post your desire to do so on this thread and maybe we can help you out or better still you can help us out
@ Joel : please help us out with some tips on modifying and racing techniques as you are one of the most experienced in these matters.
Any views on Team xBhp as our team for this event?? please express your views on this all of you
I hope this post helped you in somewayThat was real neat piece of information sir...Thanks for that..Originally posted by the_ab.surd View PostI am not participating in Torquenite as i cant enter two events so i will be participating only in Speed Run. The entries for that havent started as of now, will post it as soon as i get any news. Maybe we could all go to their office and pick up the forms then and you guys can get your queries answered directly from them. As for riding techniques that depend on the rider as each one has his/her
own method and i hope that Joel can help us out on that and we can discuss them once we meet up. It will be much easier that way and we can also try them out at the same time
@ Rachit : I have pmed you my number, call me so we can discuss this further.
Just one more question.. Are these drags carried out as per bike's class or is it at random like we had in passion hunt(which I personally found a bit unfair..but anyways..life's unfair..
) What I mean to ask is...will the drags be carried out as per classification based on CCs and stock bikes/moded bikes...or just at random? Cuase atleast for me it'll very difficult to keep up with a guy with a moded bike..even if it's the same one which I use.. R15..
I may be asking too much from u and the organizers as well...
but kya karu.. it's always better to b hav full knowledge than ending up no wher...

I classify in this category...So do u mean any bike with CCs between 130 and 165 can compete against each other, be it stock or moded... right..?Ketan Nikharge.

The drag are carried out according to the bike's engine capacity and are divided in the following classes
4 Stroke
UPTO - 130CC Four Stroke
ABOVE 130 - 165CC Four Stroke
ABOVE 165 - 210CC Four Stroke
210CC Four Stroke and ABOVE
350CC & Above (Bullet Class) Four Stroke
Indian Open
if u are participating with the R15 you will be in the 130cc-165cc category. Modifications are allowed and are placed in the same category unless the engine is bored in excess of the cc specified in that class.

@absurd - The weight reduction looks good enough. Thats pretty much what u can strip off from the bike. The bike will now weigh some 25kgs lesser than stock for sure.
As for launching the bikes and stuff, just practise to get the right start and take off. Choose the right shifting rpm based on what ur engine demands.
keep in mind, never let the bike wheelie at any cost. A wheelie looks cool but will cost you the race.
Also FYI there is no stock and modified class for bikes in drag racing. All the bikes in the class can be modified within the spec limits laid by FMSCI.sigpic

Can boring my 180's head help me to any extent(without getting a 200's piston,i.e. wtih a stock piston)??? if yes then can you gimme a measurement?
what should be the ideal sprocket that i shpuld get for the bike?? do i get both sprockets changed??
what kind of a mileage drop should i expect(am gettin 45-47 now)? Coz i am also into touring as well...

Is there any chance for a stock rtr [will be stiripped/tuned with no engine mods] to compete with a r15 in the drag?Originally posted by Joel View Post@absurd - The weight reduction looks good enough. A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.
Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

A stock RTR with weight reduction will make some difference. But the chance of it beating an R15 is left to your riding skills I would say. But theoritically the R15 will win.
I'd rather not suggest anything for the pulsar man.sigpic
