The monkeys huddled up was too cute!

PS: The GP edition in the blue format for the Uni is looking smashing, in the pics atleast!

You are absolutely right! I saw it now. And no it wasn't in silent mode! Man....I must admit I have never slept like that over calls. And to think of it, the mobile was under the pillow! Praful was right, kumbakaran I was.

            • It was a nice ride. Here are some highlights of the ride:

Me and Pranesh start later than planned (prior commitments caused delays)
Picture perfect ride till the base of Yercaud hills in 4 hours.
1 hour to complete the ~20 kilometers to the top with a lot of photos breaks.
Lovely atmosphere at Yercaud thanks to the off-season. All tourist sports were empty and we were the only people at some places (monkeys outnumbered us)
Found a decent room in Hotel Tamilnadu which is usually overbooked!
Greeted by sunshine from our balcony early in the morning.
Casual ride around Yercaud and a snappy ride to Hoganekkal in the morning.
I lazed on the banks of the Cauvery river while the others went boating.
A super slow ride back to Bangalore (thanks to rain). 140 odd kilometers in 5 hours and 30 minutes for me. An average of about 25kmph :P

And yeah.. the pictures will come as fast as we rode back to Bangalore

Err..I always do that. It's not going to break y'knw. It has been a habit since the start of exam days.. Otherwise, there was no chance of me waking up by myself.

Might I ask, how was the ride back in the rain at night. Someone needs to do a detailed right up.

Oh ok.... and u STILL didn't wake up!! Praful was right when he said u slept like Kumbhakaran!

The ride was interesting as it may be when u ride in the rain and when u r chasing black clouds all the way back home. We'd stop for 15 mins, let the clouds pass by, then get on the bikes, get wet again when rain increases, stop for another 15 mins, wait for the clouds to pass by, and when the rain decreases, ride again still it increases ..... this went on all the way till Hosur. Interestingly, the clouds were also in the direction of BLR, so no way out for us.

                        • I had trouble convincing the home ministry for this ride. Hence my G2G dry-run continues

Did manage to sneak in a ride to Kanva on Sunday though. Wanted to cover some ground so that i can get the first service done with !

@Praful, Pranay : You 'artificial daylight' providers skimped on the ride !
I won't get singled out for being absent then
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

                              • Great ride, thanks guys!
The return ride was memorable. We raced against the stormclouds, lost the race, & got drenched. We humans just don't stand a chance going against nature.
The lightning streaks across the horizon as we rode on the dark empty road, was my "best moment" of the G2G.
The UNI GP is a quite a looker .

There were a few anxious & annoying moments. Onward ride, a pesky "Air DVD" bus was wedging between us.
The natives there pounced on us when we reached, to pay & park. Hogenakkal has been turned into a bathing ghat, & is an eyesore at places. The Indian joint families come down their for their annual bathing ritual. Plastic, Plastic everywhere.

Return ride - a poser+pillion on FZ16 was snaking between Pranesh & me. Was he racing / riding with us?
We had stopped & sksy's helmet fell down & rolled towards the wheels of a truck coming up . The truck driver stopped on time. Bless him!
It was fun to see trucks & cars dipping their beams, when sksy's HID ray blinded them. That's the lighting set up to have, & we could ride day in , day out .
Some noob moments: I attempted some sharp swerves, & overtaking a bus on hilly descent. Trigger was . & duly pointed 'em out.
                                Pics to follow.
