Another year to discover new places to ride together.
Another year to strengthen a bond that defines brotherhood.
It's the anniversary of Xbhp Kolkata and we got to celebrate it in a grand way.
Plans and suggestions poured in from all members.
Eyes were wide open even during midnight staring at the mobile screens reading all the messages and discussion in the Whatsapp group.
Finally with everyone's concern it was decided to ride till Mayapur, West Bengal where Krishna Gopal Das, our loyal and responsible member will be arranging everything.
So, on the decided date i.e., on 20.12.2015 woke up at 5 am and got ready as soon as possible. My bike was in a bad condition as the chain sprocket was damaged badly and I did not want to force it into such pressure of this long trip but then again I did not want to miss this vital ride, so I decided to go as a pillion.
We all met at the Dankuni toll as usual where riders from the other side of the city joined us. Also thanks to Krishna (KD) for coming all the way from Mayapur to receive us and guide us to his native place Mayapur. As I did not have my bike this time, so I handed over my responsibility to Lead the group to KD on his Hero Impulse and he performed it in an excellent way. Saurabh on his Duke 390 was flawless with the tail whereas our protector aka Mark was responsible enough to marshall the group safely on his NS200. The road was excellent as long we were on NH2 where we made our first stop for breakfast at Shaktigarh, Burdwan to have some Puri Sabji and tea. It was the end of ride for three of our riders who had some important work at home. So Debdeep, Shibayan and Pritesh headed back to home from Shaktigarh and we started our journey again towards Mayapur.
After recharging ourselves we rushed through villages, farms, markets, crowds and most importantly GOATS finally to stop near a river which we needed to cross on boats fitted with diesel engines. This was the most exciting part of the ride as we had to take our bikes on the large boats. Many of them overcame their biggest fear and finally we were able to cross the river with our heart in our mouth. Then after some muddy and brown raods and through some breathtaking landscapes of the Temples at mayapur we finally reached KD's house where his family had it all arranged for us.
We parked our bikes, freshened ourselves and then sat on the Chatais which were spread on the clean lawn in front of KDs house. We were served hot chapatis, rice, paneers and several other mouthwatering dishes which KDs family members prepared for us. Even his two little angel daughters helped with the servings. After our delicious meal it was time for the cake cutting ceremony.
As by the looks of the cake you can imagine the amount of effort and dedication given to prepare the cake. It was prepared by utmost care and affection by none other than KDs mother who spend a whole day to make this cake with her expertise hand. The cake was all set with the candles, xbhp flags and light flares which was brought by Sohel.
As the candles were blown by KDs kids, confettis were burst from the cracker and the atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement. The cake was then carefully cut by Subhajitda and distributed among all the members present. We devoured the cake like hungry souls and started packing up for our return.
Everyone thanked KD and his family members for this wonderful surprise and making this day more memorable than we expected, we will forever be grateful to them for their lovely khatirdari. We tried a different route while returning but couldn't avoid the river. After crossing the river our beloved member "Achyut" did not feel like riding because of some small incident happened with him while going to Mayapur. So, thanks to him that I GOAT to ride his Royal ride - Classic 350 all the way back home. We maintained a good and safe speed, taking only one chai break and returned Dankuni toll around 6pm. From there everyone bid farewell and went back home in their respective direction.
It was a fun and entertaining day which will stay in our heart in many years to come.
With each day our bond is becoming bigger and stronger.
Proud to be a part of this brotherhood.
And once more -
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY XBHP KOLKATA.
