yes it happened.. it took place
at an elevation of 8283 feet (kufri) and a 800kms round trip with 10 bikes and 11 guys.. 19th-20th september 2004.

XBHP's highest and longest meet ever
sometimes things just dont go as planned..last min changes and stuff and in the end , the outcome turns out to be far better than expected. this is wat happened at XBHP's highest (8283feet) and longest meet (800+kms) ever..
the original plan was to do delhi-ludhiana-jallandar on 19th and 20th but then due to :
1)the ludhiana guys having their exams
2)some guys wanting a change of destination
we all decided to go to some near by hill-staion - shimla. shimla was decided coz of its close distance to delhi and the wonderful,peg-scrapping,smooth,wide,flat out curvy roads.. later..
so some last min enteries and we were finally 10bikes and 11 guys
19th september:
7 guys were to meet at the xbhp lane and these would proceed to the meeting point - peera-gari chownk where 2 more bikes would join in.
4:45am : peera gari chownk. the line up was :
1)draz - paramjeet - p180 classic
2)rare-devil - salil - p180 dtsi
3)salil's fren - p180 classic
4)bikecrazy - kunal - rx100
5)manishkalyan - manish - cbz
6)torquextreme - tarun - zma
7)wolverine - ravi - zma
8)sunny (the other sunny) with a pillion - zma
9)bunnypunia - bunny -zma
so here we were , heading into the dark ..it was a bit cold too but our spirits were high.
4:55 - the trip begins. we took it easily , doing 80-85 till we hit the bypass and on to the highway. the first 10-15kms were busy types with road-widening going on and stuff so we kept our horses under check and didnt exceed 85.. soon the roads opened up and traffic eased but we still kept it cool..
around 6am the bugs started appearing on the road n one got into my eye so we took a small break by the road. it was a bit nippy..jus a ting of cold and fog (in september!!) took some pics n carried on
7am : first big break just b4 the karnal toll tax barrier for breakfast. when we parked our bikes , ppl looked in amazement. it was a nice sight indeed. we stopped at this big open air dhaba. nice atmosphere. had nice paranthas and tea.
7:45am : resumed our trip. as we were crossin the toll barrier, tarun's bike's heat shield hit one of the big cement blocks and got damaged. we referred to it as a "good shagun". opened our throttles a bit and did 90 consistantly.
from ambala, we left the nh-1 and narrow single lane highway started where some of us had some close calls!!
met the 10th biker , amar -zma , at zirakpur crossing. had a small break for 10mins b4 heading out again towards kalka.
at kalka,we were stopped by cops n asked to show our documents. bhains ki aankh , some guys didnt hv all d papers n mr kunal didnt hv ne!! so we decided that all those who had , kept showin the cops d documents n once he was convinced that we were nice ppl ,slowly slowly we chickened out along with kunal n the cop never came to know.. baal baal bache
after kalka came 5-6 shops selling pickles , all variety of pickles. we stopped here for some nice chicken pickle. had drinks and relaxed for a while. kunal used his home made induction system for more air to the engine!!
now the roads were really openin up..such sexy wide hill roads.. this is where we ripped!! everyone ripped with kunal (rx100) , ravi , sunny (with a pillion!!) , amar , tarun and me racing all the time.. kunal did his ass-shifting cornering and he was actually beating the zmas on his rx100 on the turns !!!!! ****.. it was embarrasing.. so ravi and i thought of teachin him a lesson and tarun too joined it.. we four ripped and ripped.. 70-80 was common and taking turns at 60 was nothing new for us now.. i have never pushed my bike so much.. amar too got into the mood and now everyone from draz to manish were ripping.. what a sight it was on the roads..ppl cheering us in amazement.. i will never forget this part of the trip.. i used to overtake kunal on straights but he used to be jus behind me .. i used to see him in my rear-view mirror and as a turn approached , he used to get nearer n nearer and finally used to overtake me.!! mr bunny, ur days r over now.
entered shimla and i took the bikers to this steep 1km all uphill small road which leads near to the mall but we later learnt it was a sealed road.. so we came down and parked the bikes in a parking. tarun's bike had a puncture so we all proceeded to the mall n he joined us later at baljees for lunch.. very very poor service. dont go there again fellas..
after some strollin on the mall n checkin out some chicks we proceeded for chail via kufri.. the roads to kufri , which is abt 1000feet higher than shimla , are steep and it really got cold. so we stopped mid - way to wear jackets and kunal gained some power-to-weight ratio by pissing to gain some extra grunt on his rx100 for the climb ahead. hehehe
crossed kufri.it was cold there.. roads now were gettin bad.. stopped for fantastic tea (or was it coffee.. ? the unsolved mystery from our trip remains).. abt 14kms short of chail , i suddenly noticed that i was gettin awesome grip but den slowly slowly the grip vanished and the bike's rear started trembling.. oh my god ,it was a puncture..in the middle of no-where.. we stopped besides a half-constructed house. tarun n others helped to get off the wheel. it was gettin so cold.. tarun n me decided to go to the next town (10kms) n get the puncture repaired.. also by this time , guys had opened up the bottle n amar filled his iced water bottle with some royal stag.. naughty boyz! i forgot to wear my jacket n helmet b4 leavin for next town and by the time tarun n me were back , my head was abt to explode with this headache!! it was already very dark now.. neways we left n reached chail soon.. checked into this little but nice hotel. 3 rooms and 11ppl.. drinkin session started with some guys takin only juice..it was a nice feeling with all the guys sittin in a room chattin n drinkin.. really nice..
had dinner in a small restaurant next to the hotel and retired for the night soon...
20th september :
woke up by 8 and cleaned our bikes. the bikes were lined up in the street n were a major attraction. by this time i discovered that 2 buses had come from jaipur , from a girl's college for a trip..turn by turn we went on our bikes to market to check them out
after a heavy nice breakfast (38 stuffed paranthas , 18 lassi , 4 tea) , we left for the world's highest cricket ground at 7500feet. abt 2 kms from our hotel , all uphill drive , very very steep in the beginning.. it was gr8 to be there n we all clicked pics.. after a while we came down n headed to kandaghat via sadhopul. once again we got into the mood and started ripping. also came across the girl's college's buses.. those chicks were climbin on their seats n lookin at us from the back window and that girl with the gogs..... i cudnt resist n ended up wheeling with amar repeatin the act and finally we overtook the buses..
stopped at sadhopul n drove down to the river bed... we all enjoyed being there n almost everyone took their bikes across the stream..
left at 1pm for kandaghat where ravi left for yeol via shimla and we all continued towarda kalka.. bye bye to amar at punchkula crossing. stopped twice inb/w and had food near panipat. b/w punchkula and panipat , we all ripped.. i did 135max and kunal's rx did 112 accordin to my speedo!! bloddy ****.. 112 for a 100cc machine!! i dragged with salil and tarun and we all enjoyed racing with a zen,versa and indica n teachin them whos the boss.. it was gr8 zippin in a grp.. i took out sunny's digi-cam([email protected] wala sunny) and took pics of speedo showing 121,124,120,126,127 and then finally 129 with the cam in one hand and the other hand nailin the throttle... i cudnt bend much n hence 129 only.. (ONLY).the pic also has the tacho showin app 8100rpm
at panipat where we had food , it got late by the time we started. draz didnt have his headlights working so me , tarun , manish and draz formed a grp n we started ripping. we did 46kms in 36mins thru not too wide roads n without street lights n wid the lights from opp lane blindin us.. we kept doin 100-105 constantly.. it was a memorable moment for 4 of us .. the way we drove..it was gr8.. on entering delhi we stopped and waited for others to come..all of us united and den we went separate ways from the bypass..
this was really an amazing g2g..everyone liked it.. this is how a g2g shd be done i guess.. a long one with atleast a night stay included. i am already working on the next g2g with 2 nights stay..
@sunny - dis guy is gr8..he has FKR semi dirt tyres in the rear ,was with a pillion n still he was leanin like hell on the hill roads !!!!!!!!
@kunal - gr8 rider.. his ass-shiftin technique was gr8 n almost everyone started doing it
@ravi - u smoke a lot man.. dont do it.. but u ride very very well.. were u testin ur zappers??
had a nice time in the company of these guys.. everone had close calls with manish having 2 , ravi and sunny having one each.. i had one too.. but in the end the way we drove , i mean the way we ripped.. its gr8 we came back without a scratch..next time we r gonna put a rev-limited to kunal's rx lolzzz

my bikes fuel avg - 34.5kmpl. brilliant,jus brilliant
coming jan2005 - XBHP'S highest and longest trip (higher n longer than this one).. keep guessing..

well guys i know this is cheeky but.. a flag would increase wind drag, there by sacrificing fuel economy and top speed!
