Guys, Ill be in Coimbatore from 24th of January onwards, to attend the TWO racing school session of 26-27 January. Leaving on 28th or 29th for Rameshwaram. Ill be riding down from Ahmedabad-Pune-Hyd-B'lore. Would like to meet you guys

Don't delay your accommodation booking at Meghamalai as there are only 2 govt blocks (one in the upper town and the other one just near the lake) - they will be gone easily as it is a big weekend. Suggest you to do this today itself. Both are basic but pretty clean and decent. We stayed at the one near the lake (this one is rs.100/- cheaper) and it was good. Suggest you people also book this one. There is a mess (only one) opposite the lake just below this accommodation. You can order ur food there. That guy will serve you food up in the verandah of your guest house making things easier for you.

Suggest you guys to meet at Palladam and start early by 6.30 am on 25th Jan. Have your breakfast at Oddanchathiram. There are 2 decent veg hotels. Just when u cross Bathlagundu there is a Thalappakattu biriyani hotel on the left side. You can pack biriyanis for the afternoon and keep in ur saddles as you won't get ready food on arrival at meghamalai if u reach before lunch or you can finish the biriyani's on the way in one of the bends opposite a tea shop where you can get water.

Next day early morning suggest you guys to ride to an upper point called Maharaja mattam - very scenic early in the morning.

Make sure to carry your rain gears as it rains very often in Meghamalai. If possible carry spare tubes as the roads are very poor with lot of potholes.

DO NOT CARRY BOOZE. There is a check post before u enter meghamalai. They will surely check all the bags. They are very strict now due to some incidents and this area is now a tiger reserve. Unfortunately if it is Meghamalai - Kodaikanal - it is a dry ride for u guys as TASMAC is closed on 25/26/27. If u guys head to Thekkady, then u can go to the beer parlours there.

Take my word, this will be one hell of a ride you all will surely enjoy! Ride Safe ... Long Live the Highway !!!

You can call them. They have their details there in their T.W.O. page, very responsive and by mail they should have replied to you by now, but they are busy I guess. Yes they have Apaches, but it's more or less "class" related, only heavy guys get Apache something and others get different machines, but still you have to pay for the Apache and the damage incurred for it afterward. So you can contact them for more info.
