Ji..The Factory Clearance is 50 Microns I guess. I'd kept it a little tight cos, I can't live with a slapping noise, rather I'll do a good run-in & set it. Slapping noise & piston rattling is a ***** ji...considering the money spent!

is it?? i thought it was 20 mic...but still anything +/-10microns are only recommended....why did you go so tight...?? i fear the outcome in high rev speeds ! rings will blow very quickly ..isn't it ??

It will blow-out to everything inside out if not taken care properly ji. A good run-in for 3k kms on a good Synth 2T oil will solve everything & i'm pretty confident on that.

@Suru:some points which i learned, before going on a trip in Rx are
                1.chain sprocket/chain check.
                2.spark plug/have spare plug also
                3.carb tuning and cleaning.
4.all oil seals to be checked for leak.
5.brake cables and clutch cables check.
i think there are some more... but this is enough i hope ...and also you should have a tools kit compulsorily !!
Reg tire > for time being go for MRF rib ...it will be cheap.
Ji, all are new. oil bit leaking from fork. wil check out MRF.. Ji, all the above u said are new, but what is this new thing called tools kit.. wont 2 spark plugs and a spanner to remove that would suffice?????

yea plug spanner is needed...also you need a cutting plier in case, your brake adjustment goes weak ...then you have to adjust it!!also screw drivers are needed!! it happened to me once when i was on a short trip my chain cover got loose and began to make huge noise, since chain was sliding with cover! i had a screw driver so i tightened it with another screw removed from mud guard...more the tools you take more advantage i say!! ..

there are prescribed speeds for each gear ....pls post this doubt in two stroke forum and get the speed limit for each gear!! you should not cross this speed for your cylinder's safety!! i think in case of 100 max speed in run-in period is 40-50!! 60+ is a big NO

                      • Thanks Deepak ji, for posting on two-strokers thread.. I also asked him about the fit that they had put in.... They said its a "no problemo fit".. When I enquired if they had put in a tight fit, he started literally scolding me if someone would put a tight fit.. I also visited the lathe where they did the sleeve.. It surely does look good. They had a couple of computerized machines, plus Ram ji's mechanic also said that they are good. Its called D'silva machinary or something. He specializes only in cylinders and pistons thingie, especially bullets. actually was stunned to see some 100s of cylinders of all sizes and shapes kept there... The plan to Bangalore also flopped since it was almost 3 o'clock in the morning when I stepped out of the mech's shop.. Had to change the Fork Leg since oil was leaking and it was also damaged a bit.. So plans all due for next weekend... @Ram Ji: Click on the link in Deepak ji's post.. in the below post, you will see Shaolin's speedo.. Can see the gear indicator...
