can you explain why you need racing slicks to do power slides?? do you mean powerslides or backing it into a corner. they are 2 completely different things. you dont try and do it to go faster, they happen at the limit.

powerslides happen coming out of the corner when you are on the gas really hard and the rear wheel breaks traction and spins up while at a slight lean. hence the word power-slide. you cant do it on the ninja or any indian bike simply coz there isnt that much power avaliable. you need atleast a bike with about 60 odd horses at the rear wheel for that.

if you mean backing it into a corner, thats a skill best left on the race track for people like rossi. its used to go around really slow corners, when you break the traction with the rear brake and weigh the insde peg to get the back to step out , when you need the traction again you weigh the outside peg so the tyre grips again. you need a perfect road for it. and problems with the road and the bike will grip again and you will go over the handlebars.
