The Official Cochin Offline Meet(G2G) Thread

Many enthusiasts around cochin already confirmed for the upcomming tri state G2G, so a warm-up ride was essential to pump in some mood.

So we fixed the destination: Thrissur.

Saturday(5-6-10) night was all wet.. But even the heavy rain failed to make a change to our plans.

It was a cool, breezy morning... with very very slight showers just to express "GUD LUCK YOU MIGHTY HEARTZ".
We the riders met at IBP petrol pump, Edappally at around 6.30 AM .



HUM TAYYAR HAIN ....



We had a small (very small) briefing about formation,speed,and conventions for new joiners.

Then... The 8 pair of wheels started their run... It was a very orthodox ride. It had the modesty of a classical motor cycle touring team.

All lit up head lamps grabbed a lot of public attention(many of them even attempted to inform us about the same!!).

Couple of scooters from more than a decade back added spice to the ride.

But The bajaj classic with a closed engine need adequate rest.



But the chetak on the other hand proved its capability throughout the ride.
It had no problem cruising at 80+, even at higher altitudes he easily managed to make an impression in a crowd of modern machines.

We reached Trissur at 8:30 AM.

Had breakfast .

THEN WE DECIDED TO ADD A TWIST TO OUR RIDE TO MAKE IT LARGE AND COMPREHENSIVE ....

i saw ur post and tried it today . . . Abt a million people warned me abt the light on the way . . . But i think it makes sense . Also today on bypass i noticed that other larger vehicles on the road responded better to me overtaking . . . . No close calls because they didn see me coming . . . Hope the cops get the news quick before we get caught fr no reason . . I think we can have a campaign fr this . . .

BTW few things i would like to add are
-NEVER Overtake a vehicle from both sides...often ive seen riders over taking a vehicle from the left(Shouldn't do that in the first place) when a rider is already overtaking him from the Right!...this can panic the driver and cause danger

-While Entering corners PLEASE dont be tempted to enter through the other side of the road...many riders do this to lean more!this is not a track...almost all the corners are a Blind Spot,you cant see whats coming from the other side.Corner ONLY through your lane!

-NEVER overtake in a CORNER!!!

-Traffic Lights-often half of the group will get stuck up at a RED light when the others have already gone through.Pls dont cut the lights to keep up with the group.The group tht has crossed over should make sure if the rest of the grp has crossed or else you should pull over and wait for them to join you.

-ZEBRA Crossing-At red light NEVER STOP ON THE ZEBRA CROSSING! let us be an egs. of LAW ABIDER'S.ppl frm back will horn at you asking you to stop further but dont fall for it.

We have to be extra cautious following the Rules because while riding in a huge group will attract public attention....They should be inspired by us to Ride/Drive safer and follow the rules.

Ranjith, Good points there mate. As you said, a big group of bikes will attract a lot of attention and we dont want to garner any kind of negative publicity. So you have to be overly careful about etiquette.
