ohh.....actually we cant fit any leg guards to karizma coz there is no much space between the the rod in front of the engine and the front mudguard so wen u fix a leg guard and if u brake using the disk then the leg guard comes in contact with the mudguard and wnt allow the free motion of the shock absorbers and the rear tyre skids evn if u brake at low speedsOriginally posted by rahul9985 View Post

First understand how abs works, then you will have the answer for yourself.Originally posted by vams View Posti hv only front disk to my bike so il it be useful if i get the ABS fixed?....i mean il i get good breaking performance and free fr skidding?
Car Bibles : The Brake BibleAftermarket ABS systems
To the best of my knowledge, there's no such thing. A few years back a couple of companies tried to market what they called ABS systems that could be retrofitted to any vehicle. The product was a cylinder with a pressure-relief valve in it. The idea was that you inserted this system into the brake circuit somewhere. When you stomped on the brakes - symptomatic of locking up the wheels - the pressure relief valve opened and bled off some brake fluid into the cylinder, thus lowering the braking pressure being sent to the wheels. The idea was to take the "spike" off the initial push of the brake pedal so it wasn't ABS at all. The whole idea of putting something like this into a brake circuit makes me shudder - I wouldn't want to be the person trying to get their insurance and medical claims through after an accident when the investigators found one of these contraptions in their brake line!Last edited by BOOO; 08-03-2009, 02:18 PM.Ride with Angels

good one raghu !!!Originally posted by BOOO View PostFirst understand how abs works, then you will have the answer for yourself.
not so good one!!!
The person who wrote this article has missed some facts, so I don't suggest to go by his judgment. His explanation of the technology is good, but his way of concluding raises eye-brows (at least mine). He came to conclusion on the after market ABS systems based on his emotions rather than proper reasoning.
PS: I don't say after market ABS systems we have access to are genuine nor I would say they are fake!! We don't have proper data / information on them. To use or not to use them shall be on individual judgment.
PS1: Will I use it? Well I would like to give it a try, provided its a plug and play type and I can switch back to Stock with out fuss. BTW, with the ZMA, one need not worry about braking in city usage. But that depends a lot on the riding style.
EDIT:
Prabhakar bhai, diplomatic huh!!!Originally posted by Prabhakar View Post^

Well, I pointed out the technical aspect of the ABS system. AFAIK, ABS system consists of a Computer which takes input from the wedged wheel as shown in the picOriginally posted by Prabhakar View Post^

and then decides whether to release the pressure on the calipers or not.
so, the abs computer doesnt depend on the breaking pressure but the aspect of wheel locking so it works in mud too.
So, I would put forward my questions like this:
1. How does the system decide on when to release the pressure?
2. Does it release the pressure in rapid intervals. Just like we get ABS vibration in my swift?
3. Does it increase the breaking distance? if any?
I guess the last question is important to me more than anything else.

@ boo n prabhakar anaa ..
guys please ..we have done this thing before and ended up in cold wars
so the bottom line .. we cannot afford superbikes thats why we buy 220cc bikes
same way we cant afford ACTUALL ANTI LOCK BREAKING SYSTEM thats why we go for this
think about it
AND IT ONLY REGULATES THE PRESSURE NO ANTI LOCK OR SOFACEBOOK

See, someone with no knowledge about abs asks about some system, then we should to tell the advantages and disadvantages to him instead of simply saying that something is great. dont you agree?Originally posted by sam92 View Post@ boo n prabhakar anaa ..

IMO, calling this system ABS is wrong as its not doing what ABS does.Ride with Angels

actually the only reason i ws asking abt abs was if the same situation occurs in the future(accident)..then it might atleast help me in least of the least in the damage n also my LIFE....my intention ws nt at all to mislead the thread into any cold wars r anything i jst wanted to kno so that i cud increase my bikes braking performance which might help me through timesOriginally posted by BOOO View PostSee, someone with no knowledge about abs asks about some system, then we should to tell the advantages and disadvantages to him instead of simply saying that something is great. dont you agree?

see anna evn u hd so many questions in ur mind evn though u kno abt the working of it ....same with me i jst wanted to try so that i get myself xperience the diff coz only the person using it can answer the change what he feels

I'm fine bro! Able to walk now.Originally posted by vams View Postthanx moeed bhai.....by the way hw ru doing?..and wat is that thing which u mentioned as crash guard?
I have seen a few karizmas with that crash/leg guard. On Karizma R, You will have to remove the plastic part(donno what it is called) which has premium sports written on it. It is better if you get the guard fitted on your bike.
Wow nice plan. I'll try to join some of these.Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post@All: Here is the list of the Rides&G2Gs planned from August-October
