                      2. Well i always wanted to join you guys for the trips but for some or the other reason i was not able to ride.. but this time there was no excuse taken from my parents side...
actually i told my mum that i'm going for the event on 22nd but did'n't told her about going to Ahmadabad, told her about the destination just before moving out... so there was no time for my mum to discuss things with dad about letting me out...

                          • hey guys!...sorrry for the late update....anyways...
we started offf from fountain hotel at 2-2:15am...lotsa cancelling/new people coming in etc...finally there was
                            calvin (R15)
                            spidy (zma)
                            atul (RTR)
                            amitraj(the bullet top 20 mein-mumbai)+pillion
me.(180)+our new friend mr. Mani paaji.

we rode for a pleasant 70-odd kms.. getting the formation right and stuff, telling people not to overtake from the left. As the Kms began piling and the night started becoming darker; the various tips that i could impart were given. Honestly it was a tough task to lead the group or at times be the guy who goes back and forth to ensure everybdy's safety...spidy was doing a great job of leading as well. we stopped at a petrol pump at vapi, tanked up and we left. The weather was starting to get cooler and the density of the trucks higher. Further spidy stopped at a dhaba, where he claimed to have had the best chicken handi ever. We decided not to stop there, instead ppl had sutta, leak and we were off. After another 85 kms there was another small hotel where we decided to take a break. We just had a cup of chai and kahri ; as a heavy meal would have assured someone dozing off. It was around 4am now, We had covered a decent 150 kms in 2 hours, just perfect. I was honestly surprised at everyones endurance levels. Nevertheless we had another 350+ to go and the 3 hrs to dawn and another 5 hrs for the heat of the sun to pierce us!! after the dhaba i started to lead. The the darkness and the fatigue + the urge to sleep in the cool air whooshing past your face, had visibly become a worrisome factor for most of us. so i stepped up the gas, luckily for me people caught up. The trick was to keep everyone awake cause the high speeds required attention, the bikes were also powerful enough to keep up.Although it charged up people like Mr.amitraj beyond our control!! and he started showing some death defying cuts and stuff which was totally unecessary!. that guy got my balls in my mouth quite a few times, coz i didnt wish to sit besides him nursing hime the next day in the hospital till his parents arrived!...anyways he was lucky quite a few times. we cause of the speed we covered a good 180-odd kms by 6-7am. now it was jus another 200kms left. The 6-lane highway construction had huge traffic jams in places delaying us further. Meanwhile We had aslo managed to take quite a few snaps , courtesy: mani paji and his i-phone. I guess atul also had taken quite a few. We covered the 6-lane highyway cutting through the heavy traffic. As predicted the heat started stepping up. WE somehow manged to cover the highway and reached amdavad. Now the last task at hand was finding the venue. I luckily could comprehend gujrati, so managed to figure out the way, but unfortunately our overzealous friends, also went in 5 different directions to ask the address!!!...i was *cuking irritated, the heat was acting upon me. I and calvin were together, we manged to catch hold of spidy and waited for atul, who was momentarily lost. By then a crowd had gathered around, the R15,zma and the 180. atul came, now spidy wanted to fill petrol, fcuk! now all this was happening around 1.30! i was worried that the registration would close! i told spidy to tank up and reach the venue.

I and atul finally made it to the vnue and the rest of the gang trickled in. We just got off our bikes, registered ourselves and entered the venue. I changed into our XBHP shirt as i was wearing a full sleeve shirt. I went in for the event, I Had honestly practised the slow-biking and the figure of 8's. I started with '8'. I was clocking 36sec in my practice sessions in gravel. BUT guess wat kahaani mein twist, it was sand out there!!!!. the first 8, i tried to do a power slide which i suppose i had almost mastered in gravel, but here the sand jus collected in my tyre treads and became a huge heap, and i ended up makin a hole on the first corner. so I fcuked up the timing there, and later i just did normal 8 's and did mini power slides. I managed a sad 51 secs. Next was slow biking, which i believe is my forte`. i was clocking 1 min 5 secs in gravel(practice). here the sand was gripping like crazy at the same time it was not supporting the weight of the bike. It was becoming very uneven once the bike passed over it. So I tried my best of not counter balancing with the handle which i normally do. just tried to plainly balance. I managed a 53 secs there, but touched my foot once as the engine died out suddenly; so it came down to 47 secs.

I got through to the top 20. Next was fast slaoming, here i was pitted against the galdiator guy from mumbai. but this time there was a difference i had practised this course like crazy and with 10 obstacles! the reson was, i had fallen off the bike in mumbai in the same event and did an embarassing 52 secs!!...i did a 21 secs this time and even beat the gladiator by 4 secs.!! sexy.. next round was the q&a round. ppl were asked as to why you are a passionate rider, i answered...

passsion for me is finishing a 9 hour shift, getting on the bike and riding for 12 hours continuosly throughout the night and participating in the event.
passion for me is sleeping on a petrol pump coz we had to ride further.
It was my dads passion to buy a bike, so he had this cutout of a hero hnda sleek in those days in our cupboard where we saw it every day.
I dedicated my existence in that event and my biking endeavours to XBHP.com

I was selected to the top 4, alongwith,
                            Paaji(roadshaker)
                            THe agra boy
                            Ironbutt!..

Some serious competition there... the next round was slow slaoming, which i had never practised for due to time constraints. I was offered mr.siddhesh's FZ-16 for the round which i refused(like an idiot) coz i felt i had to win the round purely on my skill and not coz of a bike swap(phew! watever)..i was dehydrated, sleepy, with lots and lots and lots of pressure; belive you me when you have the whole xbhp, sandeep gajjar, old fox and sunil g giving you a best of luck it can crack your nuts. i was sweating like crazy in the amdavad heat, it around 3pm, the sand was emittting tons of heat my shoes were boiling. the previous nights dinner was khari and a cuppa chai!...was feeling dizzy at times. The race started, i took the first obstacle perfectly, nice slow and big. The above factors started acting upon me as i started looking at my competitiors. I touched my feet once, then the circles became smalleer and smaller and my confidence lower and lower, finally i touched down twice and i was on the verge of crying!! coz i could smell delhi from where i was, trust me. AND I DIDNT WANNA LOOSE. I eventually gave up, coz my body gave up. icpuldnt feel the forearms for some time as i was continusoly pumping the accelarator nad the clutch at the same time to ride the bike between 0-1km/hr. I and i ron butt were out. Paaji and the agra boy had a nail-bitting final. The boy showed lot of balls, but did a mistake of loosing confidence in himself where as he had a chance of making it.

We all were happy as we got oil and jackets. took lots of pics which i can see nowhere. I personally apologised to the judges for letting them down as i was only Xbhpian in the top 4. neverthless i thought from a nobody in mumbai i managed a top 4 place. I really wish to participate in many more such events. i would love to go to delhi if i can afford 4-5000 rupees of just petrol. We came back had a very nice Ac room and met 2 new friends, merwyn and siddhesh. great guys. Had sumptous dinner at hotel Decent. Trust me the best tomato soup and paneer chilly ever. went to our ac rooms and collapsed.

The ride back home was very much organised and full of pics , which i cant see anywhere, atullllllll......saaale upload kar dont be another cosgeo We had another amazing dinner at a dhaba near vasai. then went home.

Awesome, crashless and a very memorable ride for me, in the years to come.

P.S. No offence, but Trust me it was a huge gamble to have riders who had not done a single ride above 3-300 kms (overalll also)+ none of them except me & spidy had night riding experience as well.! but we pulled offf a 1000kms+ ride safely.
                            Kudos to you ppl.!
