  • Well...I was at Basilico having breakfast when I saw the 10:00am Nariman Point plan. Headed there and saw riders from some Bullet club gathered around in front of the Trident hotel. Kept my eyes peeled for someone from the Xbhp group to wave at me but couldn't spot anyone so I turned around and headed back home. Reached Thane to find a missed call from Razor...apparently you nitwits were right there and didn't wave me over...muppets!

Spent 16500 at Planet DSG yesterday. New DSG "Maze" mesh jacket in black to match my ride.

Also got me a new pair of gloves. Alpinestars GP-Plus gloves in Black

Both the jacket and glove fit like a...well...a glove Love the mesh jacket...such a relief to ride in it after my earlier DSG Spike (non-mesh). The leather feels and looks better and the black really goes well with the MT-01. The black A'stars gloves also feel incredible. Soft leather on the inside cossets the hand and the structure of the glove supports the wrist making it much easier to ride the bike hard.

I mothered the distance from Thane to Fort and back...all I need now is a new all-black helmet and the mods on the MT-01 and I'll be one happy camper. Everyone else in the world will be deaf...but C'est la vie

Hey, sorry for seeing this late man. Was able to sit down and check it only now

Haven't ridden Mumbai-Bangalore of late, and people have already added their inputs about that stretch.

You could trim 30 min out of Bangalore-Salem, and also at least 45 min out of Salem-Bhavani. First 30 km out of Salem is 2 laned, but at that time of the night, should be stress free and therefore quick enough. Good luck man. Ping me if you need help

      • @Razorblades:
Do you think you should take more than 7 hrs to reach Satara. Mumbai - Lonavala - Pune (Sutta/tea break) - Satara should not take more than 4 hrs. Check your calculation there.
Satara - Hubli 6 hrs seems almost perfect considering fatigue and boredom, lunch break etc but dont forget you got the GQ to your rescue there
Rest Rossiter has explained, however one suggestion, should keep on riding longest distance before you take your first break...

        Good luck!!!!

Found a good place for Mumbai Xbhp & Pune Xbhp troupe to visit.
The place is roughly 410-440 kms from Mumbai and its a virgin beach. There is only one MTDC resort "Saminder Beach Resort" and the place seems to be well maintained. I got a mail from MTDC on this location (surprisingly) and i shall forward it to some people whos e-mail i have. Can plan for a weekend trip towards "Ambolgad"
I have not visited the place myself but what i suggest is that if planned well in advance we could book the entire bungalow for a cool Mumbai - Pune g2g.

i tried to search the internet for any web links but failed to find any, if someone can get a web link for all to see it would be gr8.

            Location Address:
            Saminder Beach House,
            Sunderwadi, Ambolgad, Taluka: Rajapur,
            District: Ratnagiri.
            Phone: 02353 691382

Alternatively to book you can also contact:[email protected]

            Ride hrs: 8 Hrs approx
Cost: Rs. 2000/- including accomodation/Food/Booze/and everything else
I have a pdf of that..with its images and all.. Its one destination i wanted to do..but didnt have time to do it..

            Here's the map for reference..

yeah bud! working on the new timings now and the route too planing to cover as much i can without unwanted breaks before the sun starts shining
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

                        To Razor:
Let the route remain the same, its the fastest. Just timings, dont change anything else. Sun will be shining all the while, but i guess winter effect should keep the winds cooler and hence less tiresome

                        • As decided... I left for my Pune ride on 29th, Sunday. Woke up at 2.45am. got ready and left my home at sharp 3.35 am. Purposely checked the time because I wanted to calculate the time taken for the ride n all.

whoa.. world around seemed so different at that time. Not that I was out for the first time at that hour, but this time I was solo. All the roads were free.. No traffic at all.. Only the multiaxel monsters were busy with their chores. I was enjoying the free roads but at the same time, it looked scary at some places. One of which I remember at the point where the mankhurd by pass road joins the main road to Vashi. The portion under the bridge was freaky.. Nothing related to ghosts n all here.. but people standing by the road looked wicked.. fishy

I was in two minds whether to use palm beach road or not because had heard a lot of bad stories bout that road, especially at odd hours. Was also carrying some cash and some valuables. But decided to take the chance. The road as usual was ABSOLUTELY free and gorgeous. Kept cruising at stead 90 kph.

Finally reached Panvel McD and took the JNPT road. This road once again was completely dark and scary. The one thing which helped me ride safely were the newely changed crystalvision bulbs. Had done the headlamp setting last night and the bulbs were working brilliantly. Superb focus and spread. This was for the first time I was using the bulbs for longer period of time. Was scared in the beginning of battery discharging. But heck.. it didnt give any prob at all.

Once I hit the NH4 after crossing JNPT, things got even worst. People were crossing roads like Zombies.. Ba$tard$...

Reached Lonavala at sharp 5.16 am. Time for a chai n sutta break. and left for Pune. Next up, met one Avenger rider. I dont know what was in his mind but he wanted to race at 5.30 in the morning.. With the high beam on road was lit like day light for me. Didnt take any longer to make him eat the dust.

Reached Kothrud at sharp 6.20 am. 2 hours 45 mins Dadar-Kothrud Awesome fun. My palms n body had frozen down. My better half came in another 15 mins and started the return journey. Till then sun was out and riding was much easier and fun. Somewhere near Kamshet, met a guy in Fabia.. was fun playing with him. also saw the entire group of Roadshakers on the way.

Reached Panvel in 1 hour 50 mins and then it took another 60 mins to cover the distance between Panvel and Dadar. On Palm beach road.. saw 3 SBK rider ripping like crazy.. a black R1, one gixxer and another SBK. cudn't recognize which one..but was an old model..

Later on, was on a Mumbai Darshan Guide duty.. Enjoyed the day a lot.. Also went to the Safety ride. Met Mum xBhpians there

All in all.. another memorable ride in my a/c It's an ideal time to start a Ride.. especially when u r in group.. YOU LISTENING DK?

Clicked just one pic while I was waiting at Kothrud.
