Hi
Happy Birthday Shiva
Sad to know about Harsh & his new ZMR. Good to know he survived with just some scratches.
PS: Friends, I need some advice from you guys. Me & couple of my friends (non bikers/ non xbhp'ians ) are planning a nightout bike road next week at night since our exams are ending next Monday. We are on 3-4 bikes & just want a chill out ride of 150-200 kms at night somewhere just outside the city or even in the Mumbai city itself. I was thinking about leaving for Lonavala at around 12 am. Chill out somewhere till 4-5 am, watch sunrise at some point & return back by 7 am.
Please guide me through if the those roads are safe for nightout on bikes. All we want is a safe place where we all can sit together below the open sky, chat with each other & enjoy the view without being bothered by anyone.
Any other such place will do, it just needs to be a natural habitat & not a pub, resort or hotel etc. Beaches in Mumbai are a good option but cops wont let us out there whole night I guess so preferred going out of the city.
Thanks

Hey im not from mumbai but did chenn-aimumbai a while back.I think mumbai-lonavla is perfectly safe especially if u are on 3-4 bikes.i did it alone and it was slightly scary cause roads are empty with a valley staring down your face from one side, but with friends,im sure it will be awesome ! a cpl of smokes here n there and u will be in lonavla !

I know its safe with almost 5-6 of us but we might have a couple of girls with us so u see my point of worry.. Further, riding a scary, lonely road at night is still manageable but halting at a lonely unknown place at night just too chillout seems a bit risky.. But thanks 4 the input bro.Originally posted by anants_220 View PostHey im not from mumbai but did chenn-aimumbai a while back.I think mumbai-lonavla is perfectly safe especially if u are on 3-4 bikes.i did it alone and it was slightly scary cause roads are empty with a valley staring down your face from one side, but with friends,im sure it will be awesome ! a cpl of smokes here n there and u will be in lonavla !

+1 for that
Go to the resort called cloud 9 on the way to amby valley. They have loads of open space in their resort where you guys can see and be in the nature.
P.S. If you doing some night out with females, make sure you carry something like pepper spray with the females.

I kno a little coment from someone can offend the ladies & thats exactly why I was worried. Lets see how plans shape up
Never thought of that idea. Pretty safe & legible option with quiet a convenience. I hope we all get reservations. Will try & make it a full 1 day outing (highly doubtful) if going for the resortOriginally posted by dineshsamtani View Post+1 for that

PS: Pepper spray wont be easily available I guess, never seen it myself. Although I'll forward the suggestion to the ladies.. Lets see how they respond

Dude, how far exactly is Lonavala or Amby valley from thane? I'v been to Thane & Kalyan on my bike sevaral times but never went beyond that (Except once when we did Alibaug trip) so We have no idea about the roads & directions. Did some research on Google maps, It says about 200 km return journey from ambey & the directions looks a bit complicated to me since I'm new to maps & navigationOriginally posted by dineshsamtani View Post

PS: On our quest for a trip, I showed my friends your & RAchit's thread on MAlshej ghat & they just loved it. How is Malshej for an option? I know its best in rainy season but still, the greenery & views would be pretty much there so how is it for Maybe a full day trip?Last edited by mitz; 05-11-2010, 04:06 AM.
