Dude, how far exactly is Lonavala or Amby valley from thane? I'v been to Thane & Kalyan on my bike sevaral times but never went beyond that (Except once when we did Alibaug trip) so We have no idea about the roads & directions. Did some research on Google maps, It says about 200 km return journey from ambey & the directions looks a bit complicated to me since I'm new to maps & navigation

PS: On our quest for a trip, I showed my friends your & RAchit's thread on MAlshej ghat & they just loved it. How is Malshej for an option? I know its best in rainy season but still, the greenery & views would be pretty much there so how is it for Maybe a full day trip?

Dude, the way is pretty simple, from thane Octroi check naka to Lonavala is 94 KMs, and the place cloud 9 would be some 10-15 kms more inside lonavala. So round trip would be 220 KMS.

Check my signature for Malshej ghats too. Its a good place, 120KMS 1 side from thane, can be done twice in a day . Jokes apart, its a good place, but honestly it will be really hot in this season.

hi guys wat abt a short ride of 5/6 hrs. to lonavala/amby n' back on the sunday i.e. 16th May 2010...
we leave by max 6 am n' come back by max 1 pm so we have a decent time all together as fun... as its summer i propose we leave early, reach early...
as had a very memorable trip tht week, so thought y dont we plan it once again 2gether... u can invite ur friens also along...

I was bored of the renovation at my place and needed a break hence was planning a short ride this weekend. Also my friend has come down from UK so wanted to take him for a ride near by. But it's not confirmed as I may head to a small village called as Bori, by car.
