a big hi to every one. i could not ride my vehicle during our TSG2G. I love to ride with you all in my bike. lets plan for a trip.

i wish to convey special thanks to kiran and people who are responsible for this TSG2G. though i did not ride much, i really enjoyed the trip and learnt a lot.

was seeing the thread about TSG2G. re collecting the new riders who i meet. its nice. well after an accident in march, i did not ride my bike. i got chance to be a part in this TSG2G. well i suffered a bit travelling as a pillion for long distance, but the to-getherness made me to enjoy the trip.
this would be my memorable trip for ever with such a good head count.


me, raghav and sriram made trips to tirupathi and pichavaram (back waters - south tamil nadu). above all i regard this trip with xbpians as the best.

You're right; I also had few observations during our ride from Salem to Vellore; I'll use this opportunity to share my experience too.

I couldn't help posting something; when sweeping from Vellore to Chennai I noticed this person riding just before me had an excellent road sense. He did quick overtakes rather than comfortable overtakes. What this means is, his cruising speed was sufficient to overtake, say in 3 seconds, but he cut the gears to make it ASAP. This is something very strictly to be followed on all over taking & a good practice too. I learned this in a hard way say about 1 or 2 years ago compared to this guy in his late 20's. Really commendable. It is after this incident I feel that my experience is nothing compared to their riding skills.

PS - Just wanted to share the joy that the air filter box & the entire intake manifold has been replaced & the bike is in running condition from stranded ; I've scheduled for an engine build up (crankshaft, engine bearings, clutch, gearbox, cylinder, kicker) this Friday & pray things go smooth; after which the painful engine run-in period starts once again

Oh c'mon, I know whom ur talking about!! If I were on a more torquey bike, I would not even have bothered. But my bike has pathetic pik-up in 6th gear!

Yes, 2 stroke or 4 stroke, when the cylinder is dismantled, ring changes are compulsory. When the rings are changed, there is a running period for them to get themselves accustomed to the (new) position in the cylinder.

I do about 350 Kms every week & I guess a month's time is more than sufficient to complete the running in period.

EDIT - But if you still want to ride the RX, you're more than welcome to ride my friend. I've full confidence on your riding skills

By the way, Apar, the ride we're planning may not happen in next two weeks I guess, atleast if it does, I may not even join as I need to complete the run-in period before hitting the highway. So I hope this will give you an excuse to join us right?

I agree. But I generally cant extend my run-in phase beyond 100 km at the max. Got road, ride!
