AFAIK they stop us at toll gates only and if they try stopping in the middle of the highway just ignore them .(unless stopped by a interceptor with speed gun).
Once I showed my college ID and got free .
From then on I convince them that I have sun burn problems so I am forced to wear full clothing with gloves .
Try that but not sure about knee pad though .
Generally being polite helps but we have to look for legal options too.
Try posting in CTP's FB page with full details that might help if harassment takes place at poonamale .

A friend of mine had a bad experience with the ponamallee police , iam attaching the screenshots of what he told me .He was wearing a riding jacket , gloves , helmet and riding boots and was returning from the biker's meet that happened at Bangalore .He was made to sit 4 hours in the name of investigation.

We have only few options left
Either seek media attention or submit a petition at commissioner office .
I already had a failed approach for a different issue and I don't have faith in them .

If this happens again we should file a case and make them take ur seriously.

Very sad that we are getting treated like this .

EDIT:I visited their page they are inactive from April 30 (last post ).
Also there is a viral video about the harassment of a car guy and there is no reply from their side .
May be they are busy with the terrorist issue .
Let's wait &see

This is all regular, the cops in and around thiruvanmiyur stop any pulsar, and when I say any pulsar I mean any, I ride with my helmet, jacket and gloves all the time, (hari can vouch for that) but, no matter what I get pulled over, and having the RC exhaust and missing fairing I get 0 slack, the usual thing is, " Oh you have just started riding, why do you need a 220CC bike", You must be racing only!". Sadly, there are a huge number of "racers" in and around this area, who ride 220's and I got hit by one of them near the adyar bridge, that bugger escaped and I got taken to the station. In full gear, or in just under wear, it matters the bike you ride and how much Arse kissing you do to the cop to get off scott free. I'm no angel on the sundays down the ECR, but in and around the city I know my limits. The worst cops I know of are the Poonamallee Bypass cops, and the ones on the OMR, they won't be satisfied unless they jump directly in front of the bike and cause you to have a coronary. I'm fed up with the situation now. Just getting used to it and living with it.


But, the days I go to the beach In my beach shorts, and just my helmet and gloves, I never ever get stopped. I don't get it.
