You have been rather slow in asking that question! Kadambam is the name of a Mysore style restaurant in Bangalore where the first meets had taken place, and the thread was created with that name, and it just stuck..... it rings a nice tone when u say "The Kadambam Thread", doesn't it? I hope you are no longer bogged down and I hope I have lightened your burden now.

The restaurant no longer exists where it was, its relocated now, used to and still does serve out some delicious puliyogere rice and sweet pongal, not to forget the mohan puri.
