    Topic Approved.

If you want city level comfort & handling (for bad road conditions), good braking, better looks, good low speed performance, etc. than you should choose FZ.

Otherwise, if your focus is a balance of city and highway rides, more power, mileage, spares & service cost, etc. then you should choose P150.

Be aware that FZ doesn't have very good mileage, it is so-so, around 40 kmpl. And it does not have any wind protection whatsoever.
Pulsars' looks are very common nowadays, and you might get bored with it, although functionally its a fine machine.

Both P150 and FZ are good 150 cc machines. Where P150 will give you better average, FZ is more fun to ride at the cost of average. P150 can accomodate pillion however FZ has small pillion seat.
Finally it depends on your taste. If you want a more Fun to ride machine, but dont care about mileage, then FZ is the machine to go for.

FZ is an absolute fun in the city with its low end and mid range punch and very easy to navigate through the traffic. Engine is very nimble, bullet proof, clutch is super slick and the gear engages without any effort and doesnot demand any major maintenance besides the periodic oil change and oil filter change and major interval service overhaul like it would on any other bike. Spares cost wise also it is not expensive.

Pulsars have come a long way in terms of refinement and reliability since, its first iteration. However, still not as smooth as FZ. If mileage is topping the charts then FZ is not cup of your tea. It will be keeping you in the range of 39-45 kmpl. I have personally done 500 kms non-stop on my FZ and the engine never overheated or got stressed or gave up on me ever! However, if you are looking to clock a top whack of 100+ kmph on FZ then thats gonna be bit longer to come by as the FZ starts slowly losing its edge over 85 kmph. This is where a Pulsar will overtake her.

In every other department otherwise FZ is a better bet.

        Cheers,

BTW what happen to your this thread: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/what-bik...tml#post862665

Same question was there too....mostly all xbhpian answered you there it self!! your same confusion in that thread was betweenn FZ and Pulsar,Even there we suggested FZ if average is not a constraint!!

look, FZ has best engine and relaible too, still people buy 4-5yr old FZ at 30-35K where as FZ new comes in 84K approx. P150 or P180 are less then FZ in price! Handling/Braking anytime FZ is better then P150 or P180.

What is your confusion here ??? You have all points in front of you, you just need to think as per your need and decide. Ain't you aware of your needs??

            Answer your self few things:
            1. Cost of Bike
            2. SVC cost
            3. Relaibility
            4. Mileage
            5. Usage

Now you deicde which one do you want?? We can suggest you but can't ask you to buy our choices!! Else we will ask you to buy DUKE200 because it's best for city ride!!

Bhai Dhek, I just purchased SZ-r over all other bike my thread is here you can go through http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/what-bik...nner-sz-r.html

I just want to say something.. when you are getting almost same thing in 64,000rs (SZ-R) then why you want to go for pulsar 150(where spare, parts quality is a big issue)

IF i am not wrong p150 is aroung 76,000 rs ( in Delhi) its almost 11,000 costly, If let suppose SZ-r mileage 45kmpl and p150 is 50kmpl (still doubt in this mileage of p150)

Calculate yourself how much you can save during five years.

But for me Sz-r is value for me, haan if you have good budget then go for your choice , but still i preferred the list like this -

                        1) SZ-r (really value for me 64,000rs and what a slick design)
                        2) CBZ if your budget is more than 70,000rs
                        3) P180 yes p180 over p150 for better chassis... (but hey its still bajaj product) (nothing personal )

                        Choice is yours.. buddy

                          He booked fz16 already.
Also you really don't know why there is 11k diff between pulsar and szr ?? Pulsar is more 'everything' than sz r
If you ride like there's no tomorrow there won't be.

Although I do not agree with jammbusters post regarding quality of Bajaj spares, however, I do agree with his point of choosing SZ-R over P150. There is nothing more in Pulsar apart from 1 or 2 extra bhp, digital console, back lit switches. In the city you wont even miss those 1 or 2 extra horses . But what matters the most is chasis, engine and gearbox and in this regards SZ-R, CBZ Xtreme (Unicorn family engine), GSX-R are quite "refined" and well sorted out. The 11000 difference between SZ-R & P150 can buy you fuel for a very long time.

If I were in the market for a 150, that is exactly my order of choice.

                              SZ-R

                              P150/RTR 160/FZ
Well, a Pulsar 150 does return better FE than most 150cc bikes. It also has not 1/2 but 3 Ps more power (which works out to 25% extra in this scenario). Though I agree with the rest of it. But you cannot argue that P150 is a more 'complete' bike than the SZ-R considering everything (including occasional Highway usage). Thats something worth paying the extra 11k for.

As for SZ-R, if I bring the Discover 150(125ST?) into the discussion, then the SZ starts making no sense at all! Why buy something heavier, less powerful and less fuel efficient for 5-7k more? Ride all 3 back to back and it all will start making sense!!

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
