Happy to see that the Naked GT is being thoroughly enjoyed in a place where most people tend to look favorably towards their faired cousins.
It does take quite a bit of matured taste in bikes to appreciate the Nakeds given the choice. Congrats and Godspeed to all the GTN owners!

@Mods - Now that we have more than one contributing member within the thread, it would be nice to re-name the thread to something more appropriate - like 'Hyosung GT650N Ownership Thread' or something similar? Or merge with 'Hyosung GT650R/N Ownership Thread' to keep all our info in one place.

Talking Damn My Butt HURTS

A quick dash to Chikkatirupathi 30kms away and back, and my skinny @$$ hurts.

Not sure if its due to the seat or due to the fact that the suspension is really hard so all the stretches of dug up roads really hammer my tailbone. Im hoping it doesnt happen on smooth roads.

Gear shifts are as sweet as my Karizma except for the transition to second from first, that one is a bit loud.

Saw a Honda, I think it was a Hornet, on my way back. Rider in shorts. It was really low, and was scraping every speedbreaker on the route.

Need some idea on the run-in RPM. Im staying mostly within 4500rpm and shooting to 5500-6000 only once in a while for very short bursts as in 2 secs max, before getting scared and slowing down. That should be fine right?

Secondly the maintenance guy while explaining the run-in etc told me not to worry about the chain. Is that correct or do I need to do some cleaning lubing etc?

Lastly, am I a complete chicken for not exceeding 130kmph?

Default GT650N heating problems

I got my GT650N delivered today and I had to drive from Delhi to Gurgaon in the peak evening stop and go traffic. Immediate observation the bike was getting exessively hot. In fact my thighs were burning from the heat under the tanks and below seat area.

I called Hyosung immediately and they said its fine as far as the engine heat doesnt go beyond 5 bars. However I am feeling great discomfort in driving because of the excessive heat. The heat from the radiator was so intense and gushing that the guy at the petrol pump asked me if I was driving for hours before reach the station. I eventually took a break for 45 min so that the bike cools down. After that all the way back home on steady speed 60-70 Kmph and the heat remained through.

Anything to worry about?

Incase you're newly exploring the world of 650's, this is something quite common. Nothing to worry about and things are cut out far better for you with the GTN due to the exposed engine section, which allows heat dissipation at a faster rate.

To be honest, the inline 600's heat-up way faster and more intensely in stop-go-traffic compared to the twins.

Riding slow does not make the heat go away. Infact, if you ride slow in traffic, it only makes it worse. Try to stay above 40k - 50k as best as you can since this allows decent air-flow to the radiator. Do not tailgate any vehicle as it restricts air-flow into your GTN.

In extreme stop-go-traffic, try to turn off the engine but do not cut-off the engine kill switch, so that the Radiator Fan could kick in and cool things off for a bit.

You may have to get used to the heat as there are little ways around it on 600's and above. Maybe after a few thousand kms, you may want to try 'Engine Ice' if the heat seems pretty hard to live with.
